*First person pov*

We made it back to find Sai walking over to the others, then saying something to them. I swallow my saliva nervously, I didn't really know how to approach them after what happened. "Just go. They won't judge you, I'm sure." Keiko said, reassuring. I smiled at her and continued to walk. I walked up to them and they turned to me. "Ciel! What the hell happened back there?" Naruto asked me as he walked up to me. "Nothing really... It just pissed me off that Pinky would do such a thing to you." I said, glaring at the ground thinking about what she said to Naruto. Sai stepped up, looking at Naruto. "When Sakura confessed to you earlier, I will tell you what she could not." Sai told Naruto. "You're kidding me?" Naruto said. "I figured something was up." Kakashi said. "What is it, Sai?" Yamato asked Sai. "Sakura didn't come out here to confess her love. She was supposed to tell you the collective decision made by all your former academy classmates." Sai explained. "I knew something didn't feel right! So she was hiding something..." Naruto trailed off. "So you knew that she was lying?" Keiko asked Naruto. "Yeah." Naruto answered, nodding. "With everything I've learned, I can understand why she acted the way she did." Sai said. "Sai... tell me." Naruto pleaded. Sai looked down before speaking. "The Leaf is going to dispose of Sasuke itself. Your ex-classmates are preparing to act as we speak." Sai announced. A horrified look etches onto Naruto's face. "Naruto, don't do anything rash." I warned him. Naruto grabbed Sai's shoulders. "And Sakura-chan... And Sakura-chan's okay with it too!? But Sakura-chan loves Sasuke!! She just wouldn't-" Sai cuts Naruto off. "Sasuke is only helping spread darkness across the world. Letting him live will only sow the seeds of another war. He's just another criminal now. Sasuke lost all hope of coming back when his group, Akatsuki, attacked our village. Your fellow shinobi would never accept him now. Sakura's not stupid, either. She understands the position he's put us all in. That's why she came all the way out here to tell you yourself." Sai explained. "Holy shit..." Keiko trailed off. "Then... Then why!? Why didn't she tell me the truth!?" Naruto shouts. "It's not a easy thing to say, Naruto. Especially since she knew how much it would hurt you." Kakashi piped in. "But still..." Naruto trailed off. "Giving up on Sasuke and choosing you was Sakura's way of freeing you from your promise. She couldn't bring herself to tell you the truth when you refused to stop trying to save him. She was only thinking of you. And... I think you understood that. Actually, Sakura forbade any of us from telling you the truth. She wanted to tell you this in person.... That was her duty." Sai explained. "But she must've known how Naruto would react... she never intended to tell Naruto the truth at all, did she? What's she going to do now?" Yamato asked. "I honestly have no idea, but if I had to guess, I'd say Sakura..." Sai trailed off, making Kakashi complete his sentence. "She plans to kill Sasuke herself." Kakashi announced. "What the fu- Are you serious!?" Keiko yelled in shock. "Does she Sai!?" Yamato asked Sai. "Probably, yes. Sakura smiled at me and said she'd work with everyone, but this time I knew, it was a facade." Sai answered. "No way.... Sakura-chan would never... she loves Sasuke so much..." Naruto trailed off. "Yeah, yeah, how the hell is she going to do that? She loves him waaaaay too much." Keiko agreed with Naruto. "It's BECAUSE she loves him. That she doesn't want him to sink any lower. It's because she loves him that she wants to rescue him from the evil path he now walks. Even if the only way is to kill him with her own two hands, I believe she's prepared to do it. Because she loves him." I glanced over at Naruto. He looks utterly broken by this news. "Which also means she's willing to let you hate her forever, Naruto. I think it's her way of atoning for saddling you with the burden of that promise for so many years. She's asked too much of you... so she's trying to end it all herself." Sai explained to Naruto. There was a silence between the two of them. "Sai... why are you telling me all this?" Naruto asked Sai. He stayed silent for a moment. "I feel like I may have helped Sakura into her current state of mind, too. So I wanted you to know. I knew I couldn't just let her go alone. Like I said, I'm a part of team 7, too." Sai explained. "Uh-huh..." Naruto said in deep thought. Naruto then clutched his head, like he were in pain. I softened at him and I put a hand on his shoulder for reassurance. Keiko then looked like she sensed something and whipped her head to the left of us. I looked to see the Sand Siblings, and it seemed like everyone else noticed them too. "We came to bring you guys up to speed... so listen carefully, because a LOT went down at the Kage Summit." Temari said, not even a greeting? Well, rude.... But why do I care? "It's been a while, Gaara." I said, smiling at him. He avoided my gaze by looking down and nodded shyly. What's up with him? Don't tell me you're that oblivious... there's a blush right there! Where? I squinted at his cheeks, but there weren't any pink to be seen. ARE YOU REALLY THAT BLIND!? Aye, it seems so, I don't see any. Where are you seeing this? Oh my god, it's right there! Not very descriptive, ya know. I am pointing at him right now and hoping it would help. Does it look like I would take the time to tell you exactly? I'm lazy and senile, give me a break. Temari started explaining what happened at the Kage Summit, but I zoned out. "Wow... talk about a long meeting... I knew Danzo couldn't be trusted." Yamato said, crossing his arms. "I've never enthused the idea about becoming Hokage... But even in this situation, I can't do anything until we get back to the Leaf village and get everybody else's opinions." Kakashi said. "Well shit..." Keiko cursed under her breath. "Madara declared war on the whole world, there's no time for politics." Temari said, and she was right. There ain't time for this. "I have a feeling everyone will agree right away... we can continue the discussion once Kakashi-senpai is Hokage. They know that if they wait, Madara and the Akatsuki will make the first move, and we'll be stuck reacting to them." Yamato said. "Very true... *Sigh*..." Kakashi said as he turned his head to look at Naruto. "Then there's Sasuke..." Kakashi trailed off. "Sheesh... I can't believe he attacked the Kage Summit..." Yamato said. "You know he's going to die young when he attacks the Kage Summit that has a bunch of Samurais, and oh, ALL FIVE FUCKING KAGES!!" Keiko said, shaking her head in disappointment. "Agreed." I said, nodding. Gaara looked at the both of us. "Naruto, Ciel... just so we're clear, this is a war to protect the remaining tailed beasts and Ciel. In other words, it's a war to protect you two. And in doing so, the whole shinobi world. I, as Kazekage, am putting my life on the line for you guys. And if Sasuke, a member of the Akatsuki, stands against me, he'll be shone no mercy." Naruto closed his eyes, and Gaara walked up to Naruto, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Sasuke's stopped looking for you. He seeks darkness of his own free will." Gaara said, making Naruto's eyes snap open. "Naruto... you once said to me 'I'm the future Hokage!' Well, I became Kazekage. If you're truly prepared to take up the mantle of a Kage, then as Sasuke's friend, you know what you have to do." Gaara said, looking Naruto straight in the eye. Naruto just merely shrugged Gaara's arm off, avoiding his gaze. Gaara had hurt like look on his face and I sighed. "Naruto..." I trailed off, shaking my head. "We relayed the message, our job's done. Let's go home, Gaara." Temari said to Gaara, whom he turned around to look at. Temari then turned to Kakashi. "We'll return to our village, the sand will act as if you were Hokage, Hatake Kakashi. As the Leaf's ally, we'll ask you to ensure there's no confusion about what's happening." Temari said to Kakashi. "Aye." Kakashi replied to Temari. Gaara looked like he was about to leave, but he stopped to say something. "I consider you a friend." Gaara said, before turning his head to look at Naruto. "Think carefully about what that word means and what you can really do for Sasuke." Gaara said, before leaving. I wave him goodbye slowly, then looking back to Naruto. "Naruto..." Yamato said but Kakashi stopped him. "He needs to come up with his own answer." Kakashi said, putting a hand on his shoulder. Naruto turned to look at me. "Hey... what do you think... Ciel...?" Naruto asked, avoiding my eyes. "I don't know... I guess I'll take Gaara's advice..." I said, and Naruto looked at me with shock and sadness in his eyes. "Naruto... you haven't met with Sasuke as recently as I did.... He's corrupted, and I don't really think there's really that much chance for him... that's the reason why I told about Sasuke to the cloud ninja. But, I'm not going to be the one to kill him, unless he crosses my path. Or," I said before turning to Naruto. "Unless you don't want me to kill Sasuke... that's fine with me. I want what's best for you.... And him."
