Nerd Vs Geek : Zombie Edition

Kaylee's point of view

"So there are things we  need to talk about." Ruby sighs, sitting on the edge of my bed. I cross my arms and nod for her to go on.

"Roach was in prison, and we wanted to get him out, you know that." She begins. "But we wanted your brains, your knowledge. We didn't want to tell you, because if you knew that would endanger you if you were questioned. I'm terribly sorry for lying to you, and I know Peter is too. He told me that all the time. I really am your best friend, I didn't become your friend just to use you."

My eyes tear up, so I look at the ground to hide it. Before I can reply, we hear a moan. Ruby jumps off the bed as my head snaps to the right, looking out my window to see a hoard of people walking slowly and clumsily towards my house. I let out a scream as Ruby grabs my arm and drags me away from the windows.

Zombies.....they're all zombies! They're freaking real!!

"Kaylee! Come on! We gotta get outa here!" Ruby yells over the load moaning and groaning. The zombies have reached my house, but I'm too scared and shocked to even move. My eyes remain wide as I watch a zombie break my bedroom window. Finally snapping out of it, I run with Ruby out the door. WAIT MY FAMILY! Turning around, I see the zombies have already got my mom and dad. Abby is screaming bloody murder as she runs out of her room.

"Abby come on!" I yell. She sprints past me. Ruby is out of the door at this point, and I almost am until Abby shoves me out of her way, sending me sprawling towards the zombies. I land hard, and my glasses fall off.

"Kaylee!" Ruby yells. My hand pats the ground furiously until I finally find my glasses, but then feel a sharp pain in my shoulder.

Teeth, sinking into my flesh. I let out a painful scream as I kick the zombie away from me and run out of the house. Ruby looks at the wound and bites her lip.

"Crap," She whispers.

"What? What's wrong?" I ask, trying hard to keep my tears from pouring.

"Come on , we've gotta get somewhere safe." She exhales before taking my hand and we continue running.

After about an hour of running, we don't see anymore zombies and I'm forced to stop. The pain in my shoulder is excruciating.

"Ruby, Ruby stop." I pant, pulling away from her grasp and doubling over, hands on my knees as I try to catch my breath. "What's wrong with me?" I whisper, looking up at her. She swears under her breath and shakes her head.

"You're infected Kaylee."

Tears pour down my cheeks. "What....what does that mean Ruby?!" I exclaim.

"It means you're going to die Kaylee!" She yells back. Squeezing my eyes shut, I start sobbing as I sit down on the ground, bringing my knees to my chest. She sighs and sits next to me, putting her arm around my shoulders.

"It's ok, we'll figure this out." She whispers comfortingly.

Ruby's point of view

It's definitely not going to be ok. We're doomed. I don't know where my brother is, and now the freaking zombie apocalypse has started. Thanks God, just make my life easier why dontcha. Kaylee's crying hysterically in my arms as I try to calm her down.

"Hold on, I'm gonna text Peter ok?"

She nods and calms down, crossing her arms and biting her lip. Pulling out my phone, I intentionally hide the screen while I type so she doesn't see.

Pete, we've got serious problems. In case you haven't noticed, zombies are raiding the town. Kaylee's been bit. Where the heck are you?? I need you right now! -Ruby

  Abby comes out of no where and joins us, panting. I can't contain my anger as I shoot her a death glare. Kaylee does too.

"What?" She snaps.

"You're a selfish jerk!" I hiss, pulling her to the side so Kaylee can't hear. "Because of you, your sister is going to die in a week or two, possibly less."

She shrugs. "Better her than me."

Well, you can imagine what happened next. I punched her, hard. She looks up at me from the ground as she pinches her bleeding nose.

"Don't you ever, come back to us for help. You're on your own witch."
