Geeks Don't Like Nerds ... Right?

I sighed and grabbed whatever it was I was grabbing and quickly left my little sister wondering who I was texting. I loved my little sister with all that I have and it was hard for the both of us. Our parents weren't the best people and she had left for a long time and just came back home. I missed her like crazy but now that she was back, I wasn't sure what to do. I know that I wasn't the best brother because I wasn't there for her a lot of the time. We didn't want anyone to know that we were brother and sister because of how our whole life was like. If they found out about Ruby's past, she wouldn't have any friends. She would still have me though.

"Peter! Wait!" She came after me and barged into my room when I was trying to shut my door, "Please don't ignore me. I'm just joking."

"I know sis," I said and sat down in front of Roach's computer, "I just.." I sighed.

"I know," she smiles and sits down besides me and wraps her arm around my shoulders. She was a good girl just had a terrible past and it had to deal with our parents. She hated herself a lot which is why she had gained so much weight lately. I loved her though and if anyone hurt her, I was going to hurt them. Even if it was Roach.

"So what are you working on?" She asks. She texted someone back and paid attention to the laptop. She was always fascinated about computer work and liked to watch me work on them. She was a nerd though, sure it might not be in book smarts but it was in the basics of computers, video games, movies, and especially superheroes and music. She could name off so many bands, more than I can count. I told her what had happened to Roach and she knew what had happened, she got to meet him before he was picked up by the police. Her face was lighting up a little bit when she talked about him. It was nice that my little sister liked my friend but I was also worried. I didn't want her to actually date him. Good God that would be bad. Not only was he in love with Kaylee but they both had anger issues.

"Just be careful around him, alright sis?"

"Trust me," She says looking down to her lap, "I'm done with guys,"

I couldn't ignore this. I pulled her close and I heard her sniffle. Someone hurt my baby sister and they are going to pay. Whomever they are. So, I took her mind off of it and told her about the computer. She looked at it and held my hand as she talked.

"You know," she said, "maybe Roach took it from the government, maybe the memory card or something."

"No it's not that. I looked into the memory, it's not that. Whatever it is, it's holding a lot of data and there is no way into it. We need a passcode for the backdoor and I have no idea how to do that."

"Then it looks like we need to bail Roach out of jail."

"Sis, he doesn't have bail. He just got off the phone with me an-"

"I'll do it."

I looked at her with my eyebrows knitted together, what in the world was my baby sister going to do? Most importantly, what are we going to do? She sighed and sat up again and looked down to her hands. She was nervous because she was fumbling with her shirt. She told me that she wanted to bail Roach out. Not just by nail, no, he didn't have bail. She wanted to break him out. I have no idea how we were going to pull that off but I am guessing that I was going to be involved in it. I am up for helping my best friend out of jail though. We were going to need someone else's help too.

"Why do we need her?" I asked Ruby. She was getting out a pad and pen to write down her ideas.

"She knows a lot of things. She knows science which means she knows the periodic table which also means she can make something that we can give Roach that can help him escape."

"Sis I don't know about this," I ran my fingers through my hair, "I don't-"

"What does it matter? I already killed dad. Nothing is worse than that," I muttered.

I sighed and pulled her close again but she shoved me away. I sighed and went back to working on the laptop. I missed my twin but she had a lot of things in her past that she wanted to forget. What I didn't like was that she was getting back into her old ways and I couldn't stop her from doing that. I just prayed that my sister was going to be alright.

♠ roach's point of view ♠

I guess you can say that I made a friend in prison. He was my roommate and a little older then me. He told me that he was in prison for stealing a granny's handbag then also spending her money on booze and getting drunk and urinating in the police car. He was a really good person though. He told me that he was working on getting out of here but his girlfriend wouldn't give him the money.

"I know how it is, man," I said laying there in my bunk, "I have no bail,"

"Yeah but if you don't get in trouble then you get years off," Paul told me.

"I hope so. I don't want any trouble but I kind of have a temper problem," I chuckled. He laughed.

"Who doesn't around here man,"

I sighed and looked out the cell. We were going to get our free time soon and when that happens I am going to use that phone call to call up Peter to get me out of here somehow. I didn't want to be here for twenty-five years and I am guessing that I am not going to get that good year time either. I did have a very bad anger problem and if anyone gets in my way, I am going to kill them. I thought about what I had done, stealing from the government like that. I couldn't care less. I just wanted a better motherboard for the laptop. That jerk wanted the best video games and the most space on the laptop so that he could have everything in the world illegally. I groaned and rubbed my hands on my face.

This was a freaking nightmare.
