John tapped his finger on the table and nervously coughed. John has been lying to himself for sometime now. He's had slight feelings for Alexander for sometime now, but what does it matter. Alexander is in love with a woman. Eliza Schuyler no doubt. Not only is she rich, she is beautiful. John sighed under his breath, his face twisting with the events that just happened. "Are you OK John?" Lafayette asked, noticing his friends distress. "Oh, heh, yeah I'm fine." John said with a little disappointment. Lafayette smiled widely and draped his arms around John's shoulders. "That is good mon ami. For a minute I thought you were, how you say? .....Out of it." John chuckled softly and pat his Lafayette's hand, "Thank you Laf."

John looked over at Alexander and let out a long sigh. He gripped the table and set his head down. "John you don't look so good." Alexander said cautiously. John shifted his head a bit so he could look at Alexander. "I just have a small headache. Really." John said with a small smile. Alexander furrowed his brows and lifter John up. Heat began to rise to John's cheeks. "Al-alex. Please...not after a while ago." John muttered the last part, so quiet that he could barely hear. Alexander pushed some of his own hair away and pressed his forehead against his John's. "You're hot. That could just be your blush though." Alexander said, contemplating John's temperature. "Stop Alex. I'm fine. Really." John weakly smiled. Alexander moved away from John, but only a few centimeters away. Alexander had John's face cupped in his hands. "Um...Guys." Lafayette coughed, trying to get his two friends attention.

"Oh...um...sorry." Alexander said quietly. He let go of John's cheeks and moved away. John sighed once more, missing his best friend's touch. "Ya know what, I have to go. I have...um...another essay to write for the general. Yeah, darn old Washington." John said playing it off cool. John stood up and pushed his stool away. Lafayette held John's arm, stopping him in Hus tracks. "Hercules still has to get here." Lafayette said convincingly. John huffed and nodded. Maybe he can make it the rest if the day.
