After the War.
The first Slytherin muggleborn had been a hatstall. When the Sorting Hat finally yelled "SLYTHERIN!" there was a moment of silence and then the Slytherins cheered louder for her than anybody else. Later on she became Minister for Magic. That hat had been deciding between Gryffindor and Slytherin but eventually decided to make the first step towards changing prejudice.
