For that moment you think you have found someone you truly love, but you hesitate to take a look in the mirror and realize just how broken you are inside. You start to doubt whether you could ever really love that other person and attempt to ruin a beautiful something before it can even begin...
It's too sad,
Too quiet,
Too not right here
You're sitting there, watching me sitting near
And really, it's my fault, my decision
My choice to shatter our dreamt illusion
When I met you the stars aligned; suns shone
I saw my other, and the world rocked: BlOWN
Broken halfs that became one at sight
It was like everything with us was right
You my Yang, I your Ying,
But here's the thing
There just can't be a thing,
No you and I ring
See, I can't love you and you can't love me
Not with our scars, not with our history
Yes, you like me,
Possibly love me too ..
It won't change our ways, it won't help your argue
We're afraid of rejection, of hurt
Because we've seen how those close didn't work
We're afraid of feeling too safe, too close
Because we've trusted before our loved foes
And in the end had the same turn on us
Beat us and use us without one purpose
If you can't say it then I will, 'I'm afraid!'
Afraid you're short lived, that you'll leave and fade
My shields, my heart's walls in vain torn away
And it's a fear that haunts me everyday
It isn't to hurt you, to hate you, because I love you
But I have to set this 'us' straight, say what's true
That, yes, we're truly birds of one feather
Side by side we'll flock... just not together
