I let out a scream as the humans swarmed my home. I watched them take down my friends and the familiar faces from our herd. "(Y/N)! RUN!" My mother called out to me. I turned and started flying away, and I turned around just before I left the island. I wish I hadn't, for my mother had a sword lunged through her right eye into her brain.
As I let tears flow, I flew away from the island, emerald blood dripping from a wound on my leg, but the wound in my heart was bigger.
