Kaine's POV

    I watched my stunning mate walk down the hall and out of view. Anger and pain coursed through my body. Who in their right fucking mind would hurt such a thing over someone else?! It was my fault she got beat basically. She might not remember the other hits, but one hit couldn't have done that much damage. Not even from an Alpha, I'd know.

    My wolf felt so horrible that we couldn't protect her, and when we sat in class at the end of the day and saw the marks and bruises...our heart shattered. Then when we tried to console her she thought I was going to fucking hurt her! I'd never lay a finger on her. Ever. And I think when I heard her small broken voice say she was worried about ME, and not her own self I almost started to cry. I don't ever cry.

    Sure she had hickies from me, but she couldn't help it. That's what happens when two mates are sexually attracted to each other. And the Alpha and her...I can't believe what he's done to her. No even letting her speak to him about it, and she tried to be mature and talk it out but he just...he wasn't a mate.

    Now, he's my mate too because she's shared between us, so the other day was awkward when he saw me. I'm assuming he knows I'm the one who did it...and I hate that I'll have to submit to him since I'm of Beta blood, and he's of Alpha. 

    Winter.

    God she's an angel and I don't understand how such a thing could be so smart, yet think she's not. She's capable of the work we do here, but just can't. She's quick with her tongue..but I've heard she's not really spoken. I have a feeling it's to do with HIM. 

    My wolf was in control and I wasn't thinking because I ended up demanding to see the Alpha. I'm a Beta in the pack, but not OF the pack. Long story short I was adopted from an allied pack which was small, and was attacked. I've had to wait until I found my mate to start the pack up...but I can't now since..HIM.

    Right now I am standing in the office of the Alpha, and god this scent is amazing which pisses me off because I want to rip his throat out for hurting Winter so badly. Her body is- The smell was intense and I heard the door close. 

    "You demanded to see me pup." He growled and took a seat at his desk and I stood there staring at him with no expression. "Stop wasting my time Hale. What do you want." He snapped making me growl and making him raise his eye brows.
