chapter 1- Networking

Start from the beginning

Waylon looked at Eddie blankly before focusing again. "Well, you're safe here. I have blocked up all the exits so that no one can get in and hurt you!" He gave Eddie a big smile before stumbling back over to a wire covered desk. "You can venture around the headquarters for now. There is a locker room next door with running water and a bathroom next to that."  Waylon motioned towards the doors in the hall with his thumb before picking up a small screwdriver to work on a broken camera.

"I guess I could use a shower, get all this nasty blood off of me." Waylon turned back to him and smiled at Eddie's willing cooperation. Eddie thought to himself, How could such a crazy man have such a beautiful smile?

"Okay, remember to call if you need anything." Waylon swiveled back in his computer chair and started to tinker with the destroyed camera.

Eddie walked into the surprisingly clean locker room with a amazed look caking his face. His shoes clicked across the tile floor with a loud 'click click click' after each step. He undressed himself until he was bare and turned on the shower. He had always been uncomfortable with his body, but now it only felt worse. The locker room was a completely open room with multiple shower heads coming from the wall and a few lockers lining the walls next to the exit. Just knowing that a patient, a variant no less, was just in the next room.

After all the blood had run down the drain, he had turned of the shower. the pipes gave him a loud creak before the water stopped running. He looked around the room to look for any place that would happen to hold any towels, but found nothing. The lockers were all locked and there was no closets in the room.

"Um, Waylon? Would there by any chance be any towels around here?" He yelled out to the next room, hoping that the Coder would hear him. He heard the slaps of feet coming nearer to the locker room until Waylon's small figure pop around the door frame.

"What was that?" They both stood there awkwardly because they both realized that Eddie was standing there butt naked. Eddie looked down at his body and flushed bright red. Yet Waylon didn't seem at all embarrassed.

"Towels... are there any towels around here?" Waylon looked at him confused for a second before an imaginary light bulb went off in his head. He smiled at Eddie and pointed to a tall locker next to the door. He took out a ring of keys and repeatedly placed different keys in the lock before finding the right one. Waylon grabbed a fluffy towel out of the old, rusty locker and handed it to Eddie.

"By the way, I have some thread and needles in the other room so we can patch up your protective casing." Waylon tugged at the dirty vest that laid on the tile floor. "You do know how to sew right?" Waylon tilted his head to the side, making him look like a small puppy.  His large brown eyes only added to the curious and innocent look that Waylon always seemed to have on his face.

Eddie looked at him and smiled slightly. "Of course. It is only my passion after all!" Eddie looked back down at himself and blushed once again. "Um, if you don't mind could you possibly wait out in the other room. I feel kind of uncomfortable being...well... naked in front of you." Waylon's face lit up as he understood what Eddie was telling him. Of course it would be uncomfortable for Eddie being open like this to someone he has only just met. Waylon didn't quite understand emotions but he had basic knowledge of what people could feel. he knew that trust was gained after time for humans and that it had to be earned. Waylon needed Eddie to trust him, he needed Eddie to stay with him. He would loose everything if he didn't.

"Of course. I'll just gather up the sewing supplies, and I bet I could get that old sewing machine running for you if you would like." Waylon gave Eddie a (supposed to be) friendly grin before heading out the open doorway. Eddie watched the door for a few moments, wondering what was running through Waylon's mind.  Why was he taking such good care of him. Did he need him or something? All these things ran through out his head like angry bees in a jar. All this thinking was giving him a headache. Realizing that he had been standing there for what seemed like minutes, he grabbed a towel to dry off and got dressed in his beloved clothes. Eddie loved fashion, I mean who wouldn't? It was just a shame that his favorite vest was ripped and coated in blood.

As he walked into the main room he saw Waylon frantically fixing up an old sewing machine all the while cursing under his breath. He stood there watching for what seemed like forever, mesmerized by the graceful way Waylon's hands seemed automatically know what to do with each gear and the way his hands would glide over each part before placing a new one in. Coming back into focus, Eddie walked over to Waylon and said, "I thought you were more of a computer guy."

Waylon jumped at the sudden noise and seemed to panic for a second before realizing it was Eddie. Waylon's breathing went back to the normal speed as he smiled back up to Eddie. "Well of course, every computer works the same way but I know a thing or two about other machinery. Though I don't mess with it often." He looked back to the sewing machine before sighing. "It should work now, all we need is a power source and we don't many outlets around here to plug it in."

Suddenly a light went off inside Waylon's head. He perked up as he grabbed a hold of the plug and sent electricity through his hands. The Machine started up perfectly! Waylon laughed a bit before going stiff. A large, heavy mass had grabbed onto him and squeezed. Eddie was hugging him?

"Thank you so much Waylon! You have no idea how much this means to me!" They both laughed before letting go of each other and sat down on the floor. Maybe staying with Waylon wouldn't as bad as I thought, thought Eddie.
