Poetic Heart Break

I pleaded

I persisted

I wanted

Still you never listened

Never listened to my spilled soul

On papers that try to rhyme and flow

I pleaded dearly that you read what I wrote

The words my lips quiver to say

Poetry, the only way I express

Yet, you let me digress

But now my mind is at rest

When my body and soul quit you
You wonder why I left

And plea for me to come back

Shouting hopeless promises, you'll soon regret

If only you listened to my cries

My silent pitiful sobs

Maybe than you would've listened

To the words I had written
