PRESENT (Spencer's POV) -

I woke up to the sound of the door bell ringing, I turned to look at the clock on my bedside table, 5:30am; what the fuck?! I stayed in bed hoping that whoever was ringing the bell will eventually leave, but nothing of the sort happened, I wasn't sleepy, but I most definitely was lazy. I got up and went downstairs to open the door and to my surprise I saw Henry standing there all set to go for a run.

"I seriously don't remember us planning this", I said frowning

"Good morning to you too, grumpy", he smiled and that smile gave me the energy and adrenaline to run the entire NYC marathon.

"Come in, I need a minute to change"

I ran up to my room to change while Henry waited in the lobby.

"Next time, warm me the night before that we're going to work out together", I told him as we started jogging

"So that your lazy arse can cook some excuse up and cancel? No way!", he laughed and I slapped his shoulder hard, which had absolutely no effect on him, I rolled my eyes. We increased our pace and started running together, I had to admit having someone to run with was great, it kept you motivated and it felt good. We ran for a good 30 minutes after which we stopped near his house to stretch.

"You want to come inside and do some standing abs and weight training with me? I'd make you breakfast afterwards.", he offered

"Wow, you're bribing me with food to workout with you.", I laughed at his adorableness.

"Still haven't answered my question.. will you?", he asked again finishing the last of his stretching.

"Yea, sure I'd love to"

"Great!", he grinned. "Ready for the next 30?", he asked pointing towards the empty street.

"Only if you agree to race me after it's done!", I made my best puppy dog face at him.

"You won't have any energy left, woman", he teased "But I'd love to beat you, so yea. We will"

"You and beat me? Baby, I'm kryptonite, you can't beat me, like ever", I said pleased with my little joke.

"I see what you did there", he said trying to keep a serious face

"Come on, superman. Let's get this work out over with, so that we can eat breakfast"

He looked at me with an amused expression and started laughing. I poked my tongue out at him and started jogging.

After jogging for 10 seconds I realised my partner wasn't with me, I turned around still jogging in place to see him still standing there and laughing with his hands on his stomach.

"What??" I yelled

He stopped laughing and jogged over to me and we matched our paces to start jogging again.

"You are something else, Spence", he said looking straight ahead with a small smile on his lips

I didn't say anything, I wanted to but I couldn't find the words so I just smiled. I smile he didn't see but I was sure he knew it was there.

By the time we finished we were both tired and decided to postpone our race for later.

We both entered his mansion and went directly to the gym in the basement.

The basement of his house, like mine was a large empty space with six large pillars 3 in rows and 2 in columns. But, unlike me who was yet to do anything with the space, his was converted into a proper gym minus the cardio equipment. The walls were painted with shades of grey and black. There was black, rubber flooring in the entire area, one of the walls was entirely mirrored and the wall adjacent to it supported the weight training equipment, the dumbbell stands and everything else. The opposite side had the entire CrossFit training equipment, which I was probably never going to use and the forth wall, opposite the mirrored wall, was the relaxing area. There were speakers installed in the entire room and I knew for a fact that the walls were sound proof. Parrtaaay, I thought to myself and grinned.
