"Davien, you came in perfect time." Mr. Howard said at him. Davien... Davien... I have repeated his name over and over. I kind of like his name.
"Evera, you will be pairing with Davien." He said pointing towards him. Wait... Did he just point the guy who I stare like a stalker?
"What?? I'm so..rry. Did you said pa...Pair?" I choked on my words since lungs forgot to breathe.
"Yes. We are arranging the students in pairs. But we had an odd number of students before you join. So Davien didn't get his pair and ..........$$%%^ ..... ^**(#$)* $$.........^&U ^&...... $$% *.........." Please, believe me, I can't hear anything because I was too busy exploring him.
"So students, Davien, and Evera will be the pair no#20. Give them a big applause" Thanks for the clap sound I came back to the reality. It was too late when I realised we never turned our gaze away from each other for the whole time.
"Me and him? No way." I said myself.
Few girls repeated the same sentence "What?? Evera and Davien? No way." I also noticed the hate glares from many girls.
"I better withdraw from this class than pairing with her," He said looking at me with his jaw clenched. Did he just reject me? I really can't believe my eyes. His words echoed in my ears and without my consent, my eyes started to tear. I should be happy because I'm the one who doesn't like to be his pair but I'm not. I don't know why I can't handle the fact that he rejected me.
"Mr. Howard, can you please consider changing my pair? I asked holding back my tears.
"Hold on guys. I'm the one who is in charge. First of all, Mr. Davien you have already changed your class from history to drama. So you can't change your electives again. So if you want to withdraw from this class, you can do it but you can't get your degree this year And Ms. Evera you don't have any other classes open for this semester. You also have to miss your degree. So you both have no other choice. If you have any other questions ask Professor. Ray." He started writing on the board without waiting for us to answer.
"No. Mr. Howard. I can understand" I said with a fake smile. I don't have to check for Davien's reaction because I already know. 'HATE'. I can sense his hate wave on me. But he said nothing.
"Good. Then pair no.20 is Davien and Evera." He said entering our names in the register and the bell rang. Davien left the room before our in charge could finish his sentence.
"Guys don't forget to finish the assignment. Evera, you are exempted from this assignment this time. Okay. Bye. See you all in the next class"
Everyone in the class begins to move. I can see some of them whispering each other and laughing at me. And some of them gave me a sympathetic look. Finally, I was standing alone in the room.
"Good Evera. You paired up with the guy who rejected you and you have to spend an entire semester in this hell"
"April. You have wasted your 'Good luck' on me." I muttered myself before walking towards the door.

"Hi, sweetheart! How is your first day? Did you feel any dizziness or pain? Did you take your medicines on time?" Before I could enter the door, my mom bombarded me with questions.
"Relax mom!! I'm ok. No dizziness, no pain. I took all my medicines on time. Shall I enter home now?"
"Come inside .I was worried. Why you are so late?" I dropped my bag on the coffee table and fell on the sofa.
