Tomáš Hertl - San Jose Sharks (Part 2)

I ended up taking a second look at the test just to make sure it really said what I saw. I decide to take another one just to be sure. I unwrapped the second one, followed the directions and then let it sit. After two minutes, I looked down at it and it said the same thing. I let out a huge sigh of relief.

"What's going on Y/N?" Joe asked as he came into my room.

"Nothing, why?" I said turning to face him.

"That's sigh said something else," he said walking up to me. I didn't have any time to respond before he saw them.

"What's going on Y/N? Don't tell me," he said with a very concerned look on his face.

"Don't worry, I thought the same thing at first, but they both say negative," I say slightly crying and hugging him.

"Why are you crying then?" He asked hugging back.

"I'm just glad that it didn't happen," I said through tears.

"It's okay, you're going to be fine," he said in the softest tone I'd ever hear from him.

We pulled away and we both just smiled at each other. I'm so glad he's my brother.

"Now that you're okay, go downstairs," he says slightly smiling.

"Why? What's happening?" I ask knowing he's probably not gonna tell me.

"Just go, trust me," he say pushing me out of my room.

I start walking away and look back at Joe and he makes a shooing motion with his hand. I get extremely confused but go downstairs like he said. I don't even realize I'm downstairs, mostly because I was on my phone texting my friend to let her know everything. I feel someone walk to me and engulf me in a huge bear hug. Just by the way they hug me, I know it's Hertl. He let's me go and just looks right into my eyes for what seemed like forever. When he pulls back, he finally speaks.

"Are you okay?" He asks as if studying my facial expression.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said looking at him for the first time.

"No you're not," he said grabbing my hand. "Tell me what's wrong."

"What happened that night a month ago," I started ending up looking at the floor.  "I-I just thought that the reason I was sick was because I was pregnant. I took a couple tests earlier and they both came out negative."

"Are you sad that you aren't?" He asked.

"I'm happy I'm not. I'm no where near ready to have kids," I said looking up at him.

"Do you still wanna have kids when you're older?" He asked rubbing my hand to calm me down.

"Yeah definitely, just not ri-" I said stopping mid sentence. "Wait, what are you saying?"

"I'm saying," he said before pulling something out of his pocket. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

I stand there for a few seconds shocked at what is happening, but realize that he's standing there waiting for me to answer.

"Y-yes. Of course I will," I said seeing how much he cares about me. He pulls a promise ring out and slides it onto my finger. I stand there and just stare at it, still not believing that this just happened.

"I promise I will never leave you. I will never let anything happen to you. I will be there for you through the good times and through the bad times. I'll be there to comfort you when you're down. You will always be my girl and no one will ever take you away from me. I love you Y/N," he said with a smile on his face the whole time.

By the time he was done, I was in tears. I couldn't believe he just did that. All I knew was that I could trust him with anything and through anything and that he'd never leave me. That was the day that I fell in love with Tomáš Hertl and never looked back.
