Trees became sparse as Yumi and Jay ran towards the zoo site until they were replaced by mounds of soil and blocks of concrete. Large machinery rested nearby, left in disuse and overgrown with creeping weeds. While the towers of the forest had not yet reclaimed the zone, weeds had grown on many surfaces while patches of moss carpeted concrete floors.
It was on one of these patches of moss that Yumi slipped and fell, wincing from hurting her butt against the ground unexpectedly. Jay quickly helped her up.
"Well, we're here," the girl said. "Any ideas?"
"Give me a sec," the boy replied as he took stock of his new environment.
