In the face of Death

There was a face before me,
all around me a bright dazzle.
She had red in Her eyes,
while I had grey in mine.

I embraced the blinding white,
as the black swallowed me whole.
My soul welcomed its warmth,
as my body turned cold.

"Where was the pain?" I asked Her,
I couldn't hear myself.
She laughed and curled her lips,
"Oh no, that's no more"
