Frozen. I felt like I was completely glued to my seat, the amount of fear that had consumed me was preventing me from turning around to see who the owner of those footsteps was, hey, maybe it was Harry?

As if a switch flicked on, my brain switched on and suddenly I noticed that they weren't just footsteps, they were the sounds of Heels clicking against the floorboards. My blood was ice cold and my heart was bruising my ribs as it pounded them, my hands were shaking as whoever it is stopped in the entryway. Looking up and into the middle of the table there was a vase of flowers so I counted up to 3 before launching forward and as soon as I grabbed the vase I whirled around with it raised above my head. I wasn't going down without a fight especially since I had a good idea of who it was.

My mouth was left parted and my shoulders sunk in relief once I saw it was Perrie not who I thought it was going to be.

She laughed as she came inside while I shakily placed the flowers back where they belong.

She pulled out a chair and I winced when the chair legs made a screeching sound against the floorboards, I hated that noise. She apologised before settling down in front of me.

"Not to be rude, but what are you doing here?. . And how did you get in!" I exclaimed suddenly as I realised she had somehow gotten inside without me hearing the door open or close. She smiled, rolling her eyes.

"Harry sent me, and I have my ways." She said smugly as she leaned back in her seat. She looked exceptionally pretty tonight, her hair was falling around her in messy curls and her makeup was simplistic but attractive. I felt (and probably looked) like a potato, I could totally see why Zayn was into her, apart from the soulmate crap.

"Harry sent you? I don't need babysitting, I can handle myself." I huffed indignantly at the thought of Harry sending someone to come and watch me like I was a 5 year old child, I appreciate his concern but let's not forget, it was his idea to up and leave like that.

"Clearly," she teased nodding to the vase of flowers with a playful smile lighting up her pale skin. "And I was going to come see you soon anyway, thought you could use a friend who's not a temperamental male." She said with a smirk, I let out a bark of laughter at her accurate description of Harry, but was also incredibly grateful because I felt like I was going insane without someone to talk properly with.

"Well, you're spot on." I commented and she looked about 10 times more smug than before.

"Hey, do you want a drink? Tea maybe?" I questioned her suddenly realising I was probably coming across as rude and plus I felt like a nice hot cup of tea would make things better. Tea and coffee have that kind of effect I guess. She smiled brightly and gave me a jovial nod, I smiled and hopped up to start the kettle and get the mugs ready with some tea bags.

"If you don't mind me asking, what are your, you know, abilities. .?" I asked wearily as I poured the now boiled water into the mugs and began to stir in some milk and honey instead of sugar. I set the cups of the steaming tea down on the kitchen table and sat down, immediately wrapping my hands around my cup of tea and I sighed happily as warmth spread through me.

She nodded blowing on the hot tea before she cautiously took a sip.

"Of course not! But it'll be easier to show you than tell you," she said as she glanced up and our eyes met, suddenly a feeling of complete serenity settled over me which wasn't there before, but before I could bask in it I was filled with sudden anxiety as my foot twitched and all I wanted to do was smash something and release the pent up frustration, but before I got to terms with that I was back to normal and I stared at Perrie with my mouth agape.

"Emotions, you can control people's emotions!" I exclaimed victoriously, her face lit up and she grinned brightly nodding her head telling me I was correct.
