A/N: hi!
Glass and rubble crunched beneath my feet as I stumbled through the foreign area, where the hell was I?

I huffed kicking a stray stone out of my path as I struggled to see much in front of me due to the lack of street lamps in the area. That alone speaks volumes about the type of place I've stumbled into, my first week in this damn country and my second day at my job and I loose my way home and end up here! Wherever the fuck here is. I knew I should've taken that left instead of going right and now I'm too far into this scary place that I can't even go back the way I came. God, I could really punch myself.

I knew I shouldn't have tried to get home alone, I just wanted practice as I don't have the energy or money to spend on calling a cab everyday, to and from work. Not happening. I shouldn't be afraid really, I knew the heroes were here for a reason, to protect the country and its citizens but I was afraid because this ghost town seems like even Titanium, the most powerful of them all wouldn't be able to get here.

A door opened from across the street, yellow light momentarily spilling onto the black street as a few people stumbled out, loud shouts and hollers echoing around them as they raise what seems like beer bottles jubilantly in the air, the light sharply reflecting off the glass. I grumbled under my breath, great. Drunk people. Fuckity fuck.

I tried to melt into the shadows as they crossed over onto my side of the road and began walking the opposite direction I was going in, meaning I was going to bump into them one way or another.

My pulse increased the nearer we got and I bit my lip as I passed them, I was just about to heave a sigh of relief when my wrist was grasped and I was turned around with force. My eyes bulged and I swear my blood ran cold.

There was a group of them, men in their 40's who looked like they hadn't heard the terms 'shower' and 'toothbrush' in at least 10 years, there was a few women as well. All of them leering at me as they jostled into each other, clearly suffering the effects of alcohol. Sweat started to accumulate and my knees began shaking as I realised they had formed a messy ring around me, caging me in the middle like a terrified deer.

"What are you doing out her, sweetie. All alone." A straggly haired woman asked leering at me, her words ploying concern but her expression saying something else. A few men laughed excitedly as they began to huddle closer. My mouth was dry and I was beginning to hyperventilate.

"Shut up!" I spat, with as much conviction as possible-- which wasn't much, my point proven as they all cackled loudly, I cringed at the horrid croaky sound.

"Play nice kitty," a man from behind murmured, his words slurring together heavily, as he draped his arm over my shoulder. I panicked and began struggling to get his fat, greasy arm off me. Tears began leaking out of my eyes as my chances of escaping seemed to step further and further away. I gritted my teeth. Be. a. Bitch. Do what you do best, I mentally told myself as I opened my mouth without hesitation and bit the unknown mans arm.

He yelped which gave me leverage to slam my foot up into the pot of gold, he yelped even louder and tumbled downwards clutching the goods as he moaned and groaned. I took this as my chance and began to run, adrenaline pacing through my veins. Superheroes my ass, where the fuck are you then? Pfft.

A loud scream ripped through the air as I was tackled down by a large man from behind. My vision being blurred as we tumbled to the ground, I yelled in pain as I tried to wriggle free, loud sobs leaving my mouth as I completely lost it and began screaming for help.

"Shut it." is all I heard before I felt a agonising pain my side, I screamed even louder as the man moved and they all began cackling and talking amongst themselves. I looked down to see broken glass sticking out of my side, I sobbed clutching the ground as the agonising pain overtook me.

"We'll take her back to mine," a rough voice said as they began walking closer again, i gritted my teeth and forced myself to my feet and began running, the pain was indescribable, wails were leaving my mouth openly while I ran, the movement making the wound deeper. Not even looking where I was going I stumbled over something unknown and fell down onto the concrete, the glass being pushed further into my side as I cried out in utter pain. I could smell the metallic, irony smell of blood wafting through the air and I nearly choked. I was going to die. I sobbed as I lay there, in too much pain to move.

I realised after laying there that no one had come after me, weakly turning my head I could see something purply through my blurry vision. Great, now I'm seeing things. I could hear the shouts of men for awhile and the sound of a evident fight going on, between who, I didn't know.

"H-help. ." i weakly whimpered to no one in particular. Well, so I thought. I could footsteps approaching me and the shouts had quietened. I squeezed my eyes closed as I felt someone kneel down next to me, absolutely expecting the worst.

"Shit." I heard them mutter to themselves. It was a male, a young male, with a deep raspy voice, unlike those croaky bastards behind.

"Open your eyes sweetheart." a voice cooed a I weakly opened my eyes to be met with vivid green eyes, very familiar green eyes. The eyes Id been seeing on the news continuously lately as the city raved about the power of Titanium.

It was him, Titanium. I would've been awed has I not been in the predicament I was in. He reached for my arms and gently pulled my up off the ground and to his chest. I whimpered in pain at the movement and clutched at his suit with my small fists. His other arms wrapped around my legs as he stood up, taking me with him. He jogged before he took off into the air, I held onto him as I could feel the rush of air around me, I sobbed, the pain unbearable.

"It's alright, just a little more." he murmured. I closed my eyes as he landed through a open window and set me down gently on the couch. I whimpered as he left for a few seconds before he hurriedly returned and brought along a box of medical stuff with him. He pulled up a chair next to me and began to carefully prod and poke my wound.

"We're gonna have to take this out," he decided, green eyes meeting mine. He pointed to the glass and I bit my lip as more tears fell. I shook my head weakly not ready to experience the pain. I doubted he had any anaesthetic with him so I would feel every inch of that damn thing being pulled away from my flesh.

"I have to, sweetheart." he said gruffly, although his tone was softened by the affectionate term. I nodded my head and turned it away as he reached for it, my eyes squeezed closed and my teeth bit down so hard on my lip I probably drew blood.

This was going to be a long night.
