Chapter 16
—
Friends
"Angas, salamat dito, Ya!" Lyndex cheered and was now focused on his new laptop.
I scoffed. This kid. What if I didn't give him a laptop? So we won't be friends?
I raised a brow playfully.
Wew!" he murmured.
"Hey, I am serious.
He also started to find her Kuya. "Baka. . . gumagawa ng plates niya?"
I nodded and made my eyes back to my laptop and just focused on reading the materials Prezie sent me. I turned it off when I finished reading it. I still have some to read but I chose to take it more easily.
Most of it was a little upgraded from my freshman year back then. It has become more complicated now since scientists and mathematicians kept on adding formulas to it. Geniuses and their boredom problem.
I faced the teenage man in front of me who was busy with his book and laptop. "Hindi ka pa matutulog?" I asked. "Kung hindi pa, mauuna na akong aakyat. Do you know where your room is?"
Lyndex answered, still busy with his studies.
"Alright." I said before going upstairs.
When I realized that Manang Dina was already in her room sleeping, I concluded that Uno might be in my room already.
It was past ten in the evening and my body started to call the softness of my bed. But unfortunately, I did go outside earlier so I need to go to shower first before I am allowed to lie down on my bed.
When I entered my room, I found no one inside. I shrugged and placed my laptop on my study table. I thought of placing it in the laptop bag but I remembered that I won't be attending classes tomorrow. I always did that dahil minsan nakakalimutan kong dalhin lalo kapag nagmamadali akong umalis.
I was getting a towel in my walk-in closet when I heard the bathroom door creaking. And I was not surprised when I saw Uno only wearing a black pants with nothing on top aside from the towel resting on the top of his head.
When our eyes met, I saw how shyness enveloped his system. "Uh, I use your bathroom. D-dont worry, I did not touch any of your things inside." He even stuttered while speaking.
I chuckled, amused with the way he behaved in front of me. "Why are you so tense whenever I am around? Easy, man. I won't bite." I said, to make him calm. "You are so nervous you know?" I walked past him and was about to go inside when he suddenly spoke.
"Thanks, tatanawin kong utang na loob 'to," he said, showing me a timid smile.
"Don't worry about it, it's nothing. Just stay calm, okay?" I assured him one last one. "And by the way, you're really fluent in speaking English, huh? What a nice voice." I pointed out and went inside the bathroom.
