Chapter 11

Fighting

"The patient is now stable. Stress probably triggered her high blood pressure," the doctor said as soon as he came out from Lola's room. "She just needs a proper rest."

I even expected that there is no traffic anymore since it was getting late.

I drove here straight from Katipunan or at least around Ateneo.

One more thing is that our game will be in two days. I don't know what to do because I can't leave Lola like this. Fuck, I can't decide. I just need to settle things one by one. In that case, maybe the situation would get better.

I sighed out of relief. At least she's now okay. "Thank you, doc. Anything we need to do?" I asked.

"For now, rest is a must. Also avoid things that could make her stress. High Blood is a silent threat, hindi natin alam kung kailan aatake kaya mas better if we will be cautious." Doc Rodriguez tapped my shoulder. "That's all. Excuse me."

When the nurse allows me to enter the room, dumiretso agad ako sa bed ni Lola. Good thing Gelo managed to take Lola in the private room.

I typed a text to Gelo.

To: Gelo Prestano

Order me a dinner, please. Wala pa akong kain. Any food, thank you.

He said that Tita was out of town for a business meeting pero pauwi na rin dahil sa nangyari kay Lola. Flexible assistant nga siya.

To: Gelo Prestano

Also, buy me a blanket and a pillow. I'll sleep here sa couch. Babayaran kita pagdating mo dito. Thanks.

I waited Gelo to arrive because I am really hungry. I even brought my duffel bag with me.

I am planning to send a message to coach tomorrow morning since I am sure that everyone in this hour is now resting.

After that, I forced myself to sleep after staring at Lola's sleeping face for a long time. I am thinking about what she's been doing with herself to become this exhausted.

"Oh my god! What are you doing here, Euseff?" she was shocked when she saw me sleeping on the couch early in the morning.

"I'm here because you got admitted. And you? What are you doing to yourself, La?" I raised my brow to her. I stood up to sit beside her hospital bed.

She chuckled. "I'm okay, Hijo. Just a little stress. It won't kill me."

"It will kill me, La." Mariing sabi ko. "I told you to let Tita Hareit manage the entire company, right? You should be resting..." I held her hand softly.
