Chapter 14

Magkatabi silang inilibing, that's the easiest way for Lola to grieved them.
I know Mommy will understand me.
I remember few memories with her. When I promised that I will have my dream come true. I will make it once I am capable of doing it.
She works for Lola back then. And the only thing I could remember is when she brings me to her work so she could pay attention to me at least.
"Promise me, you'll become an Engineer." Mom smiled at me. "I know you, Euseff. You are smart and kind, by using that you can achieve your dream. Mommy will always support you so you promise to me that you will do that, okay?"
I giggled when she pinched my cheek. "I promise. I'll make you proud, Mommy!"
I just diverted my attention to Lola when she started to whisper on Lolo's name carved in the stone.
I still have promises I need to make true.
"Hi, Mom. It has been a while. Ngayon lang ulit nakauwi," I sat in front of her grave. "Guess what? We won the match last week. Well, have I told you that I am already the captain?"
She sat on the mat I put in the floor.
"I am still in my sophomore year. I am doing my best so I can fulfill my promises to you. I am living the life you always wanted for me." I began to feel more emotional when I said those words. "The life you always talked about you should live if it weren't because of. . . Dad."
"You always laugh at me when I draw buildings back then, not because I am not good enough but because you saw potential in me.
Good thing Lola did not notice that I was crying. "It didn't made me feel that you feed me with those words so I could help Lola. I exhaled.
God, I always do talking to Mom when I visited her but not this kind of conversation.
I still miss Mom and I don't think I could wake up one morning without missing her.
"I kinda miss your wisdom, Mom. Though, Lola has been doing that for me, even if I never felt that I lived in an incomplete family. . . sometimes, I wonder what would happen if you are still here. . ." I wiped my tears and controlled my breathing.
"Euseff, look, there's a butterfly!" Lola chuckled. "We just need to guess if that's your Mother or your Lolo!"
We waited if it would land at any of the grave and to our surprise, it landed in Mommy's grave.
