Laptop

I replaced my bed sheets as soon as I entered my room, including my pillows. Hindi pa naman sana ngayon ako magpapalit kasi kakalagay lang nito noong isa araw pero dahil may katabi ako, at kahit sobrang linis pa. . . pinalitan ko. 

I also turned on the lights in my room. For once, I felt so conscious about my room. I have been confident that my room was always clean and not messy. But tonight, it feels different. 

Baka dahil ngayon lang ako nagpapapasok sa kwarto ko. Kahit mga kaibigan ko, madalang lang pumasok sa kwarto ko dahil sa guest room kami madalas kapag nandito sila. 

I sighed with my own thoughts. Fuck being paranoid when I knew someone will be in the same room as me. Kahit wala naman akong dapat ipag-alala, hindi ko pa rin maiwasan. 

Nagpalit lang ako ng sando at lumabas ng kwarto. I am holding my phone because I am waiting for Prezie's reply.

Hell, I don't want to just sleep here in my condo all day! I read not to study in advance but to make my time useful. Besides, I just know you'll be reading some of it anyway. 

She replied when I asked her if she was not tired of reading. She's been stressing and studying herself for almost every holiday and academic breaks. 

To: Prezie Sercies Dremida 
You should go to malls. Buy something or what. You're stressing yourself, Valedictorian. Hindi ka ba napapagod? 

I could hear her annoyed voice from here. 

To: Prezie Sercies Dremida 
Pinapapunta ka nga rito dahil may fiesta, ayaw mo naman. You know what, I am giving you ways to avoid you from studying. 

I've been checking with her often for the last few weeks. She's really having a hard time adjusting her study habits. Aside from that, she's alone in her unit and she's been through on something right now. 

Hindi ko lang talaga alam pero mula noong nangyari ang sa parking lot ay parang mas naging conscious lang siya sa paligid niya. And I know... that it has something to do with her reaction before. 

I just can't point it out since it was a sensitive topic for her. I didn't know the whole story so as much as possible I remained silent and did everything I could do for her to be calm. 

Studying has been her façade to stop herself from thinking about it. But it is not healthy practice if she would sacrifice herself just to have that... peace. Kaya hanggang kaya ko siyang bigyan ng gawain na walang kinalaman sa pag-aaral, ginagawa ko. 

She's the one who helped me cope in the field of engineering back then. When I am finding my way back to my academic spark.

Nakakapagod kaya bumyahe. At isa pa, hindi ko pwedeng iwanan ang unit ko dahil may hinihintay akong mga batang kakatok dito, 'no!

Hoy sinabihan ko silang pupunta ka rito. Excited na ang mga paslit na makita ka kaya umayos ka gago. Magdala ka ng ice cream. Cookies and Cream or Strawberry flavor.

To: Prezie Sercies Dremida 
Fine, I'll bring ice cream. Pero sure kang hindi ka pupunta? Bahala ka nga, wala kang shanghai!

From: Prezie Sercies Dremida 
Erks. May sinusulat ako ngayon, at kaya kong mag-order ng shanghai! Just enjoy the fiesta, dude. 

I didn't bother to reply to her last message aside from reacting to her message. Bruh, she's so stubborn. Mas ayos na rin na nagsusulat siya at pumapasok sa ibang mundo gamit ang mga salita niya para hindi niya maisip ang mga nangyari sa nakaraan niya.
