Dakota’s POV

I watched Audrey walked out the door with Jaime, both of them smiling like crazy. They were seriously cute together, with their arms wrapped around each other’s. And then there was me, sitting in baggy sweats and a tank top with nothing to do on a Saturday night except for eat and find ways to entertain myself.

I had been sitting in my room playing guitar for a while, when I heard a knock at the door. I set my guitar down and went to see who was there. I opened the door and saw Vic standing there, with an awkward smile on his face. I didn’t even realize that I had really missed Vic until I saw him standing in front of me. I got butterflies in my stomach.

“Uh.. hey Dakota,” he said.

“Hey..” I said. I couldn’t help but laugh a little. He looked so small and innocent standing there, almost as though he just woken up from a long nap.

“Whatcha doin?” Vic asked, rocking back on his heels.

“Nothing really. Why? What’s up?”

“Well, you’re doing something now!” Vic exclaimed, smiling widely, as though he suddenly got a burst of energy.

“What do you mean?” What the hell was he talking about?

“Just go throw on some jeans. We’re going bowling!”

“But Vic, I - ” he cut me off.

“I don’t want to hear it. Let’s go!”

I laughed and ran back inside, put on some jeans, grabbed my purse and keys, and headed to the door. As soon and I locked the door behind me, Vic grabbed my hand and basically dragged me downstairs. I was laughing the whole time. Not just at the fact that this was completely random and made my night better, but at the fact he didn’t know what he was getting himself into. I mean, he was bound to find out sooner or later that I couldn’t bowl to save my life, anyways. But if it meant more time with Vic, then I was happy to do it.

I wasn’t head-over-heels for Vic, we were just super close friends and we both seemed to immediately have some sort of connection. I would be lost without him. I guess we acted like a couple sometimes, but it wasn’t like that at all. Audrey kept telling me that Vic was into me, and as much as I wanted to, I didn’t believe her. I honestly didn’t think that Vic liked me that way at all, actually. We had just met a few weeks ago for Heaven’s sake!

Vic’s POV

I was sitting in the apartment alone. Jaime had left with Audrey, Mike went out with some girl, and Tony was in the studio working on some guitar riffs. I knew Dakota was in her apartment alone, too. I really wanted to see her again... it hadn’t been that long since we last saw each other, but it felt like an eternity.

I missed seeing that beautiful smile of hers. It seemed that she was always smiling no matter what, and it made me smile too. And I still could not get over her eyes. They had this certain sparkle to them, and I couldn’t help but get lost in them every time I looked her in the eye. Just thinking about her made me eager to see her again. I had to see her right then. But I couldn’t just show up at her door and expect entertainment to fall from the sky. I had to think of something, quick.

I thought of all of the things we could do together. Take her to see a movie? Hang out and play board games? Ice skating? No, no, and I can’t even ice skate! Then I thought of the perfect idea. Bowling.

I sprang out of my seat and darted into my room. I put on a fresh shirt and brushed my teeth, then walked over to Dakota’s apartment. I stood outside of her door for a few minutes, practicing what I would say. Quite frankly, I didn’t know why I was practicing, it’s not like this was anything special. Actually, it was. Any time with Dakota was special to me.
