Step, step

walking with pace,

step, step,

smile on face.

But I know,

the smile is fake,

and even though

your whole heart aches.

You stand up tall,

strong and proud,

trying not to fall,

in the hostile crowd.

You laugh and joke,

with a feign facade,

but something inside you broke,

and just like us, you are truly flawed.

So pretend as you will,

and fake your smile,

just remember the world is out to kill

those who might stay awhile.
