Chapter 21
Love is like the feeling of being lost and trapped in a thick, misty morning fog, yet you know exactly where to turn to to get out of the endless sea of nothingness. Why? Because there was a beam of light leading you along the way.
It was the feeling of constant assurance. That even if you were already blinded by the thick clouds of uncertainty, you can still rest worry-free, as you know that a warm embrace will carry you out of that misery.
I never knew that this kind of warmth would reach me. Heck, it wasn't even just trying to reach me, it was already presenting itself right in front of me, telling me to embrace and accept it wholeheartedly.
And who am I to decline?
The only thing I could answer him after he said those words were just subtle nods. There were no words coming out of my mouth, or rather, I was too overwhelmed to even speak.
We continued strolling along the big park. Malaki at malawak. It was also a bit cold, the gust of the wind makes the leaves of the trees rumble.
It was a peaceful feeling. And having him with me, holding my hand as we walked, made it more peaceful and wholesome.
Unlike the park in our neighborhood, this one isn't a children's park.
We kept on walking, admiring the greenery of the place along the way. It lasted for about an hour. We also conversed a little while doing a stroll.
And when the time to say goodbye finally came, it felt like the gust of the wind suddenly blew the fire of a candle out. The warmth on my heart due to his ardent comfort had suddenly disappeared.
But even though the fire had already been put out, it felt like my hand was still feeling his touch, his warmth. And that warmth was making its way back to my heart, proving me that even when he's not around, he will still be my comfort.
It was one hell of a date, not in a bad way, but in the bestest way possible. And I hope it happens again.
"Morning, Ley!" Sid greeted me as soon as she saw me entering the room. There was a big smile plastered in her face. Huh, mukhang good mood s'ya.
"Good morning." I greeted. "You look happy? Wala kang new enemy?" I teased.
Sumimangot siya. Natawa naman ako sa naging reaksyon niya. "Can't I just be happy for once?" sumbat nito.
Lumapit ako sa kaniya. "Hmm..." I acted thinking, "Lalaki 'yan 'no?"
Her brows furrowed and she looked at me disgustedly. "Hindi 'no! Bakit naman ako ngingiti dahil sa lalaki?!" she defensively said.
I tsked. "As far as I know, you have more than twelve crushes inside the campus. Anong malay ko? Baka pinansin ka ng isa kaya ka nagkakaganyan." I insisted on teasing her.
"Hindi 'no!" he defended, almost shouting. "Hindi kaya! I wish naman, sana nga mangyari 'yon!"
I know she's hiding something. She's being too defensive, she's acting weird.
Ah, god forbid a girl smiles too much for a day and one of her best friends started looking for an anomaly.
Ah basta, if she is hiding something, and if it is about boys, I'll let her keep it to herself in the mean time. Sasabihin niya rin naman samin 'yan eh. At saka, I did the same thing naman dati. I kept Archein hidden from them for a while before actually telling them about us.
