00; Prologue

"She would have been with us." Stiles said, looking over at Scott as he stood next to Kira, all of them staring at the initials.

"Yeah." He wrapped his arm around his girlfriend, pulling her closer to him.

Lydia smiled fondly at the shelf, memories of her best friend flooding her mind, knowing deep down her presence never left them. "She still is."

With those last words, they all made their way out of library, walking down the stairs. Scott had almost reached the bottom when he collided with a dark haired girl whose face was buried in a Beacon Hills High map. His arms imeadietly shot out to grab her shoulders, steadying her.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" She yelped, looking up at him with wide eyes. Scott froze when he saw her face, his throat closing up. Allison Argent stood right in front of him, hair and clothing damp from the rain, like nothing had happened. "I was looking for the library, for the senior scribe thingy, and I wasn't watching where I was-"

"Allison?" It was Lydia who spoke, tears brimming in her eyes. The girl frowned slightly as she shook her head.

"I think you're mistaken." She gave them a familiar smile before brushing a stray hair that had fallen out of her bun out of her face, Scott's arms to falling to his sides. "My name is Claire, I just moved here."

"Stiles." A boy in a plaid shirt stepped forward, sticking out his hand. He stared in disbelief at their hands when she shook it, confirming that she was in fact real. He cleared his throat before continuing. "That's Kira, Lydia, my girlfriend Malia, and this is Scott."

"Nice to meet you all. I uh, I'm gonna go do this before they lock up." Claire laughed, her arm brushing Scott's as she walked past him up the stairs. When she reached the top she turned around, facing the group. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."

With that she was gone, leaving the pack looking like they'd all seen a ghost.

And they thought they had.
