Chapter Thirty Eight.

"Where are they?" Tris asks one of the guards. "Where's Four and Eric?" She spats their names, as if they were disgusting to her taste buds.

They were to me. I felt sick even thinking about them.

"They are arrested. They were in the control rooms tampering with the alarm system: trying to shut it down." The guard replied.

"Disabling the alarm!" Tris bellows, making the stiff guard jump ten feet in the air. "I want to see them."

"Both of you?" The guard's eyes flickered my way before retreating back to Tris.

After leaving Christina, I fled to our dormitory and grabbed one of the shirts I took from the lost property. I didn't realise how cold I was until I put it on.

"Yes." I cut in. "We are their... Girlfriends. And we are not... Pleased in the slightest. So let us through."

The guard sited aside: unlocking the door after scanning us with metal detectors. I bet they thought we came to murder them.

Which wouldn't be such a bad idea right now.

The room was brightly lit, I almost shield my eyes with my hands. The bright light on the ceiling was aimed at the two boys by the table. Their wrists were cuffed and chained to the table.

"Tris." Four gasped out. He took notice of her stitches and blooded state: blood stains in the form of fingers stained the front of her shirt, and a large pool of blood had began to dry all on her left side.

Tris and I crossed our arms: a woman's saying of don't even bother. This action usually means we are not impressed.

The paper of the baby crackles in my bra, and one of the corners bit into my breast and I still don't move it. My anger has gone through the roof to even be bothered by a stabbing piece of paper.

"Want to know what your friends did?" Tris says barely above a whisper. Her voice cracked slightly and I knew she was about to break down. "They were after the death serum. They could have killed a lot more people and declared war."

Four looked down at his hands. Eric looked at Tris, facing the consequences.

"I didn't-" Four began but Tris cut him off.

"I told you she was lying. I was right and you didn't listen." Four locked eyes with Tris and I struggled to keep the tears at bay and my breathing even.

"Uriah and I were standing against one of the walls that had an explosive. The ones that were used to set of diversions. He might not even wake up." I clench my jaw, trying not to scream into oblivion.

Four flinched at my words. Eric didn't even look at me.

"David has been shot in both knees, but in recovery. The doctors aren't sure when he will be able to walk again." Tris continues.

"Other injuries have been or are being cared for." I whispered. Where was my anger? Was it the look on the both Eric's and Four's faces that made my anger disappear?

"You're lucky Nita is taking most of the fall when she's recovered. She's going to be in prison as soon as she is healthy." Tris says and steps back towards the door. I didn't make a move, apart from taking one of the prints of the baby.

Tris left, slamming the door behind her.

I bit my lip. I didn't want to move closer to them: I might just smack them to another country. But it's got to be done and said.
