✧.* People come and go, that's life ✧.*

The morning sun cast a golden glow over the Hogwarts grounds as students gathered at the Quidditch pitch, their excitement palpable in the crisp autumn air. Victoria stood among the crowd, her heart pounding with anticipation as she waited for her chance to prove herself on the Quidditch field once again.

Marco tagged along, finding a seat at the top of the Quidditch stands. He decided to get ahead on the work since he had the time.

The familiar sight of the towering goalposts and gleaming Snitch filled her with a sense of nostalgia, reminding her of the countless hours she had spent practicing and honing her skills in pursuit of victory. Now, as she prepared to face the tryouts once again, she felt a surge of determination coursing through her veins, driving her forward with renewed purpose.

At the center of the pitch stood Gary Davies, the captain of the Ravenclaw team, his gaze sweeping over the assembled students with a mixture of pride and anticipation. Beside him, Tammie Witter, the team's new co-captain, wore a determined expression as she prepared to assist Gary in selecting the newest members of their team.

"Alright, everyone, listen up!" Gary called out, his voice cutting through the chatter of the crowd. "Today marks the beginning of another exciting year of Quidditch at Hogwarts, and we're looking for talented witches and wizards to join our team!"

A ripple of excitement spread through the crowd as Gary outlined the rules and expectations for the tryouts, his words punctuated by cheers and applause from the eager spectators. Victoria's heart raced with excitement as she listened to Gary's words, her mind already racing with plans and strategies for the upcoming season.

As the tryouts got underway, Victoria stepped onto the pitch with a sense of purpose, her broomstick clutched tightly in her hand as she prepared to showcase her skills. With each pass and maneuver, she felt a sense of exhilaration wash over her, the wind rushing past her as she soared through the air with effortless grace.

Beside her, Emerson Black, her former best friend, flew with a fierce determination that mirrored Victoria's own. Despite their strained relationship, Victoria couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at seeing Emerson's skill and determination on display, a reminder of the bond they had once shared as teammates on the Quidditch field.

As the tryouts drew to a close, Gary and Tammie conferred quietly, their faces serious as they discussed their options for the team. Victoria held her breath as she awaited the final decision, her heart pounding with anticipation as she hoped for the chance to once again don the Ravenclaw robes and take her place among the stars.

Finally, Gary stepped forward, a triumphant smile lighting up his face as he addressed the crowd. "Congratulations to our newest members of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team!" he began to announce the new members of the team, his voice ringing out across the pitch. "For beaters we have Emerson Black-" Victoria tuned out the sound of the following member being announced.

Her eyes jolted. A part of her was hoping that Emerson didn't make the team so it wouldn't be awkward between them.

"Moving on to our seeker," Victoria was so distracted that she didn't realize there was only one position left and it was seeker. A part of her knew she wasn't going to make the team, but the other half still grew hopeful. "I'm proud to announce our seeker, Victoria Potter!"

With cheers and applause echoing in her ears, Victoria couldn't help but feel a surge of pride and excitement as she joined her teammates in celebrating their victory. As they gathered on the pitch, their faces flushed with triumph, Victoria knew that this was just the beginning of another thrilling year of Quidditch at Hogwarts. Emerson stood by them all not wanting to engage entirely with them. She held an awkward smile while everyone congratulated each other which only furthered her discomfort.
