Y/N smiled and preheated the oven before walking over to the pantry and pulling out her mother's pink apron which said 'Kiss the Cook'.

Rodrick gave Y/N a puzzled look as she ambled over to him with a grin on her face. "Y/N?"

She put the apron over his neck before reaching behind him to tie it.

"What are you doing?" he asked. "I— I didn't agree to this."

"Yes you did," said Y/N.

"When?" Rodrick asked as she stepped back to look at him.

"When you accepted my invitation for you to come over," Y/N told him as she opened her mother's recipe book. She flipped to the page dedicated to Christmas baking and laid it on the countertop.

As she separated all the ingredients into piles, Rodrick stretched his arms behind his back and tried to untie the apron.

Y/N took his hands and placed them onto the counter. He sighed. "Y/N, do I have to wear this?" he asked.

"Yes," she replied as she bent down to grab a bowl from one of the cupboards. As she was crouched down on the floor, Rodrick rested his hand on the edge of the counter just in case she accidentally hit her head.

She stood up and placed the bowl onto the countertop. She then began mixing the ingredients into the bowl accordingly while glancing at the recipe book every so often.

Rodrick watched with a sour look on his face. He folded his arms over his chest and Y/N smiled at him. "This isn't funny," he grumbled.

"Yes, it is," she replied. "Now, would you like to help?"

"Not with this on," Rodrick said as he tugged on the apron. Y/N ruffled his hair before continuing to add ingredients to the bowl.

Once everything was ready, she sprinkled flour onto the counter and placed the dough on top. She used a rolling pin to flatten out the dough before pulling out gingerbread men-shaped cookie cutters. She handed one to Rodrick who happily took it to cut into the cookie dough.

Y/N helped him place the cookies onto the tray before she placed them into the oven.

As she waited for the gingerbread cookies to bake, she began to make the sugar cookies. Rodrick decided to shove his bitter behaviour aside and actually help Y/N because he started to feel bad that she was doing all the work.

Once the sugar cookie dough was done and they cut out some cookies, they placed the first batch on another tray and Y/N placed it into the oven beside the tray of gingerbread which were close to done.

Y/N leaned against the counter and Rodrick stepped in front of her. She looked up at him and glanced at the apron he wore. She let out a quiet chuckle.

"What?" he asked. He followed her gaze to the apron and frowned. "I'm taking it off." He reached for the strings behind his back but Y/N took his hands and placed them by his sides.

She then placed her finger in the leftover flour that was left on the counter and dabbed Rodrick's nose with it.

He shook his head and wiped the powder off his nose. Y/N smiled before kissing his cheek.

As she was about to open the oven door to check on the cookies, Lee began whining from behind them.

"What's wrong?" Y/N asked as she walked over to Lee who twirled around. She peered over her shoulder at Rodrick. "I'm going to let her out. Keep an eye on the cookies please."

He nodded and opened the oven. He took out the gingerbread cookies which were done baking and waited for the sugar cookies to be done.

Y/N picked up Lee and brought her outside so she could use the bathroom. But as Y/N waited on the front porch for Lee, she realized her dog was standing still in the snow.
