❝ THE NIGHT HAS IMPALED ITSELF

IN MY SOUL. ❞

Chiron said they needed to hurry, so he gave Percy a ride on his back while Lucena disappeared into one of the shadows cast by a tree on the edge on the wood line. She appeared by a glade blanketed with wildflowers, past old willow trees and a little waterfall. She stepped out of the shadow, now standing next to Annabeth on her right, with Juniper on Annabeth's left, and Clarisse by Juniper's other side. Chiron dropped Percy off who quickly made his way to Lucena's side.

"What's happening?"

"Shh," She hushed him quietly.

A bunch of satyrs were sitting in a circle on the grass. Grover stood in the middle, facing three old, fat satyrs who sat on topiary thrones shaped out of rose bushed. Grover was telling them a story, twisting the bottom of his T-shirt and shifting nervously on his hooves.

As soon as Clarisse noticed Percy next to Lucena, she glared at him and muttered, "Punk."

Lucena grinned. "Play nice, babes."

"Shut up," Clarisse growled, but her voice wasn't nearly as hostile as it was with most.

Lucena and Clarisse had a very odd friendship consisting of rather rude insults and bickering, but also a helping hand the second the other needed it. Just like with Thalia, it was an unlikely friendship, but a good one.
