(Infinite's Pov)
After what felt like an eternity, I finally mustered the courage to respond to the Phantom Ruby. With a hint of hesitation, I spoke my mind, "It's too dangerous, and y/c wouldn't be too happy. Sorry, but it's not up for discussion unless you want to be crushed onto the ground.." A chuckle escaped my lips as I awaited its response.
To my surprise, the Ruby replied, "Did you hear that? I heard something infinite." My suspicion grew as I locked eyes with the enigmatic gem. "Did you send anyone here that I should know about, Phantom?" I questioned, my voice filled with suspicion.
In a quiet and low voice, the Ruby uttered, "No, I didn't, idiot. But if you want to live, be quiet, Infinite." I stared back, my eyebrows arched in disbelief. I didn't appreciate being called by my name, but I mustered a response in an equally hushed tone, "Fine, if that's what *you* want, Ruby."
As paranoia began to consume me, thoughts raced through my mind. What if Metal Sonic or Chaos Sonic make it here? I couldn't be certain, but just to be safe, I crept up to my door and closed it tightly. With a hint of frustration, I replied, "There's nothing out there, Ruby."
The Phantom Ruby's response sent a shiver down my spine, "Great, whoever was out there probably knows we're suspicious of it." I couldn't help but roll my eyes at its remark as I leaned against the door, adjusting my mask.
