It only made sense, after all. Scaramouche was someone who had been hurt too many times to count, and his porcelain, heartless being was something that could shatter at any moment. Even now, he could feel the countless faults that fractured his core.

His own mother had given up on him, how pathetic was that? What had he even done wrong? He had been brought into this world not of his own accord, only to be thrown away?

He swore against all of it, rage blazing in his eyes.

His heart had long been shrouded with hate.

But somehow, when he met you, it seemed to change.

You greeted him with a smile, only laughed when he criticized you, and listened to his every word like he was worth hearing.
