Diluc has always been wary of his brother.

And it really doesn't help that you've recently been hanging out with a certain blue-haired man startlingly often. Diluc's a busy man, rarely home, but even he finds it... unsettling. It's anything from a quick meet-up before work to late-night drinks - and as much as he wants to trust you, he's got an uneasy feeling that something is going on.

Ever since the three of you were young, you were promised to be his. From the start, he was indifferent, but as time passed, his feelings for you began to develop.

He knows the ache in his heart, throbbing throughout his body, isn't a crafty play that Kaeya has planted in his mind. It's of his own accord, and that's what hurts him. That's what leaves a gash on his heart that will never heal.

But you loved him, right?

Right?

At least he still had your love to hold onto. With that, as long as he had it, he'd be okay with just about anything.

He watches you walk out the door silently.

Was his very existence just to be a stepping stone for whoever came along to one-up him?

He hated Kaeya. He hated you, for making him feel this way.

But mostly, he despised himself, for being so selfish, for being so sensitive, for gullible enough to be enticed by your sweet words. To have been drawn in, to have trusted you.
