Chapter 50

December 10, 2023.
November was a blur and it had been a fun month for bilkisu and Akram. Bilkisu was excited as it was the last month of the year 2023. She couldn't wait for the new year.

Sitting comfortably in the main living room, bilkisu watched a movie as she was bored. Nahla was asleep and so bilkisu came downstairs to get some alone time since Akram was at Sa'ed's place.

They had some office work to finish and bilkisu was more than glad she took leave. It didn't take long before bilkisu heard Nahla wailing from upstairs. She quickly went upstairs and picked up Nahla.

"What is it my baby?" She said lovingly. Bilkisu then went downstairs with Nahla in her arms. She prepared Cerelac for Nahla and fed her.

Nahla finally calmed down and bilkisu was more than happy. She then continued watching the movie while Nahla spoke gibberish from time to time.

Bilkisu was tired of staying at home so she decided to go to Aisha's place. Bilkisu put Nahla in her cradle and brought out her phone to call Aisha. She picked after the third ring. "Assalamu Alaykum shattuu." Bilkisu said into the phone.

"Wa'alaikum Salam, how are you doing?" Aisha asked and bilkisu told her that she was doing okay. "I hope Akram isn't acting funny again." Aisha said in a sarcastic tone.

Bilkisu chuckled. "No he isn't shattuu. I'm fine, I promise." She told her. "Anyway, I called you to tell you that I'm coming over." Bilkisu muttered.

"Oh okay! Finally I'll get to see Nahla." Aisha squealed making bilkisu roll her eyes. "So you're not happy that I'm coming?" The latter asked. "I am. I'm just more excited to see Nahla." Aisha said.

Bilkisu feigned hurt and Aisha chuckled. "Should I tell Chinelo and husna to come as well? We can go out or something." Aisha suggested. "Sure, do that." Bilkisu replied before the call was ended.

Bilkisu dressed Nahla up and got dressed as well. She picked everything she would need and then left the house making a mental note to text Akram and tell him she was going out with the girls.

Bilkisu put Nahla in the baby carrier and dropped her in the back seat before keeping Nahla's stroller in the boot. She closed the boot and got in the car. She then ignited the engine and headed to Aisha's place.

Bilkisu, Chinelo and husna had come to Aisha's house and they headed out after eating. Their first stop was ShopRite. When they got there, bilkisu came down from the car and went to get the stroller from the boot while Chinelo got Nahla.

"God abeg, I can't wait for her to grow up so I can spoil her." Chinelo said staring at Nahla lovingly. Bilkisu chuckled as she closed the boot. "You that is always complaining about not have money." Husna said rolling her eyes.

"Ah toh." Aisha agreed. "Abeg oo, I don't have money to spend on you people but I would gladly spend it on Nahla anytime any day." Chinelo said proudly. "You're mad. Please give me my baby and let's get going." Bilkisu said collecting Nahla and putting her in the stroller.

Chinelo glared at the mother. "It's not your fault bilkisu, it's not your fault at all." She said as she continued to glare at her. The girls laughed and went into ShopRite.

They made a stop at miniso first. "God I want this!" Bilkisu said pointing at the various plushies there. "Buy now, after all Oga Akram has money." Chinelo muttered.

"Chinelo!" Bilkisu half yelled and glared at the other woman. "Abeg free me." She - Chinelo - said as she continued shopping.

When they all got what they wanted, they paid and left. "Let's go to pandora guys." Aisha suggested. "Yess, let's go!" Husna replied squealing. They headed to pandora and the girls checked the jewelries they had and bilkisu fell in love with a particular necklace.
