Leah's POV

Tuesday

4:30 pm

Sitting on my couch in my living room , I pause the movie and pick up my phone.

2 miss calls , 10 messages from 4 chats.

My phone is on dnd so I wouldn't know if it's ringing.

A unsaved number called me. I dial it back.

Who is this ?

"Hey my love , it's Zaidan's mom...he gave me your number"

"Oh hey" I answer surprised.

"Have you heard from him I've been trying to call him since yesterday"

I go silent for a second.

"No...actually" I finally answer.

"You have any idea where he is ?"

"I think you should probably ask Gina because he never mentioned to me where he's going" I tell her.

I hate having to do this.

"Okay let me try calling him" she says.

I hang up letting out a relieved sigh then press play on my movie.

Seconds after there's a knock on my door and get up from the couch to pull it.

"Girl yuh nuh see mi did a call yuh" Jada says walking pass me.

"Oh I forgot to call you back" I say to her closing the door.

"Whatever"

She sits on one of the stools around the kitchen counter and I sit beside her.

"Look what I bought" she says smiling.

"Seafood ?" I ask excitedly.

I run over to the sink and watch my hands before running back to the stool.

She laughs.

"Look whose saying I'm greedy" she teases.

She should be lucky I'm finally eating a little again because last couple days every food disgusted me.

Totally lost my appetite....

I roll my eyes and get right into the bag of seafood.

I haven't had it in a while.

"How are you feeling now ?" she asks putting a shrimp in her mouth.

"Much better than before" I say taking a bite off the corn.

This is really spicy the way I like it.

"Okay great"

"Tomorrow is Aaron's birthday" she tells me.

"Oh tell him I said happy birthday when it comes"
