Kunikida?" began Atsushi a bit hesitantly as he walked up to his grumpy superiors desk.

"What is it brat." responded the blond man, not even looking up from his paperwork.

"Well, there appears to be a suspicious person standing outside the agency building?" His tone was questioning and unsure, catching the interest of his coworkers who were each busy with their own tasks.

It was a normal Thursday at the Agency, slow and boring. They tended not to receive too many cases around this time of the week and that meant that the staff ended up filling out the paperwork relating to their previous cases and assignments in silence. It was all preparation for the normal influx of tasks that came with the weekly weekend chaos.

"Suspicious person?" asked Kenji, picking his head up from his desk where he had previously lain it in boredom.

"Yeah." nodded Atsushi before turning his attention back to Kunikida who let out a long sigh, leaning back in his chair and shifting his eyes to the nervous boy before him.

"What makes this person quote on quote suspicious." he asked at last, unamused and irritated at having been interrupted.

Atsushi seemed to be at a loss for words, his brow furrowed as he tried to figure out how to explain the gnawing feeling in his stomach.

"Well what is it? I don't have all day and neither do you."

"She looks rather suspicious, dressed in black cargo pants, a grey wife beater, and that hat. The leaning against a lamp post right outside the building and smoking a cigarette isn't really helping either..." Kenji interjected, having gone over to the window to see what it was that had Atsushi all bothered.

"Is that all?" asked Kunikida with a raised eyebrow, unimpressed with the revelation.

"No sir." Atsushi managed to stutter out. He had been at the Agency for a few months now, but still found such interactions to be fraught with anxieties. "I just thought she looked a bit like one of the Mafia members you warned me about is all."

"Yeah! You're talking about the Shark!" nodded Kenji from the window, "I see the resemblance."

"But doesn't the Shark known for wearing lolita style dresses all the time? I mean, that's kinda her thing." asked Tanizaki who had joined the now growing crowd of Agency members by the window, examining the strange woman.

"That is true..." nodded Naomi in agreement, "Plus I feel like someone into lolita fashion wouldn't be a smoker... it's all a little odd."

With another world weary sigh, Kunikida stood up from his desk, rubbing his temples as he did so. He walked over to another window, Atsushi trailing behind him, intent on putting an end to all of the fuss.

"I swear if this is some sort of joke..." he mumbled before looking out the window. He was silent for a moment before speaking again. "I must say," he admitted, "she does look a lot like the pictures we have of the Shark."

"It's her bone structure." agreed Yosano, "The sharpness of her features."

"Rampo," began Tanizaki, turning toward the only real detective the Agency had under its employ, "can you use your ability to help us figure out who she is?"

"Too much effort." groaned Rampo, fishing around in his bag of chips as he spun his chair slightly from side to side. "Just ask Dazai, he worked in the Mafia after all. Maybe he will know."

"Thats a good idea, thanks Rampo, I'll go get him!" smiled Tanizaki before running out of the room in search of the tall bandaged man.

"I've always wondered, why do they call her the Shark?" asked Atsushi, turning back to the window, away from the door Tanazaki had disappeared through, "Can she become a shark the way I can become a tiger or something? I've never encountered her on a job, or heard any stories from anyone who has..."

"No one really knows." sighed Kunikida, shaking his head, "None of us have come face to face with her before to be perfectly honest. Rumors are really all we have to go off of, she is incredibly illusive for someone so well known. An urban legend of sorts that appeared about six years back. Some say she got the name because of her ability, but no one knows what her ability is for sure, just that she is most certainly gifted. Some say its because of her tendency to only engage in combat if someone else starts the fight or the fact that she never leaves her enemies alive, like a shark would. A lot of the rumors are rather foolish, there is one that even says she got the name by allegedly having multiple rows of sharp teeth."

"Which do you believe?" asked Yosano.

Before Kunikida could give his answer, Dazai burst into the room followed by Tanizaki.

"I hear you are in need of my wonderful help!" he exclaimed, arms spread wide.

"Sadly, you are correct." grunted Kunikida, pushing his glasses up in annoyance. He didn't like dealing with his chaotic coworker at the best of times but when he was like this? Kunikida downright hated it.

"Oh it's okay Kunikda!" Dazai playfully sang as he waltzed over to the window the Agency members were grouped around, "You don't have to be embarrassed by admitting the fact that you are useless on your own."

"Just tell us if you recognize that girl." groaned Kunikida, pointing to the girl who had finished her first cigarette and started on another one, putting the old one out on the sole of her shoe and tossing the butt to the ground.

Dazai peered out the window, his face suddenly becoming much more stoic at the sight.

"God, she promised me she'd quit." muttered Dazai under his breath

"Do you know her, Dazai?" Atsushi asked curiously.

Before Dazai could responded, he caught sight of the Boss of the Port Mafia as he rounded the corner and began to make his way the girl. She made no move to acknowledge the dangerous man's presence.

"Here's this fucking snake." Dazai sighed in irritation.

"So you do know her?" Kenji laughed, looking up at the older man who immediately shushed him, eyes laser focused on the scene below.

Mori Ogai walked right up to the girl. When he reached her, before he even opened his mouth, she turned around, putting her back to him. Dazai let out a low laugh as Mori moved again, putting himself back in her line of sight. The two appeared to talk for a moment before Mori suddenly pulled out a black lolita style dress, holding it out to her fervently.

The girls response was to flick her cigarette butt at the Mafia Boss who flinched slightly before she turned her back on him once more. Again, Mori moved so he stood in front of her. The girl seemed to be growing more annoyed by the second, her body visibly tense to the Agency members watching from four stories above.

Suddenly, Mori reached out, clearly intending to grab her shoulder. Dazai shoved the window open and leaned out of it.

"Mori!" he called teasingly down to the pair who immediately looked up to see the bandaged man.

A slight smile broke out across the girls faced as she crossed her arms. Mori suddenly seemed very nervous.

"Hands off my wife." Dazai's tone was cold and sharp, it sent chills down his coworker's backs.
