Chapter: 28 Delphimium Poisoned (Part I)

I. I enjoyed it! I like spending time with Velver and these moments will be special for me and I want to remember them even when I live alone and grow old... A sharp pain emerged from that thought and I did not know why!
It was as if something was swelling in my throat and my stomach was stabbed.
'Painful!' I  thought to myself. I could not understand my own behavior. I would be happy for a minute and then sadness would swallow me and clutch me as if it wanted to imprison me...

"Delphi! Did you have fun today?" Velver asked. His eyes were filled with expectations as if he wanted to hear more than just a 'Yes, I had fun with you.'

I looked at him and replied "I had a wonderful time! Thank you for bringing me here today, Velver!" I wanted to say a few more things like it was the best day and I never had so much fun before and I was so happy that I wondered if leaving is right! But that was not something he should listen to and think about. I smiled and smiled.

He smiled back. Huh? He... Smiled? I thought I was dreaming! He does not smile often but when he does! I could not look away. His lips formed the perfect curve; those wrinkles were enchanting! I felt my heart skip a beat. My breath was deeper than before!

Our eyes met for a moment and I looked away.
Did he notice I was gazing at him?!

Those green green eyes! Hm!

'How had I never noticed before how unworldly those green eyes were?' Velver thought when he caught a glimpse of Delphimium's eyes.

There was an unpredictable silence and both of them were quietly creating an invisible wall that wouldn't let a word across the person heard.

Delphimium's heart was beating rapidly and before she could think about it she felt stabbing pain in her stomach. She was sweating profusely and was feeling dizzy. She closed her eyes and bit her lips but she couldn't tolerate that pain. She endured it until she couldn't anymore and lost consciousness.

"Delphi? Delhi?!!" Velver cried loudly. Delhi Wake up what happened?! Talk to me!!
He tried to shake her to wake her up but she didn't move. He couldn't contain his anger and delirium.

He rushed the coachman to reach Castle.

He held her in his arms and brought her inside the castle. Butler was waiting for him  there. He ordered the butler to bring the doctor immediately. Servants were looking at the Duke in panic. They were much more shocked to see him in such a condition.

He put Delphimium on the bed and unbuttoned her top most button of the blouse. His hands were shaking. He didn't realise anything he could hardly think.

The doctor arrived and looked at Delphimium he  examined her but he couldn't tell much as her symptoms were that of being poisoned but her state was not making it clear that which poison has been used. He asked "What food did she eat?"

"We went to the festival and we both ate the same food" Velver replied.

"Then it might be slow poisoning! I want to know about her meals and bring me food that has been served to her over the time." Doctor said.

Velver asked " who is serving her food these days?"

Casey replied "It! It's me"

What do you serve her? bring food samples and the person who cooks.

After checking the food and talking with the Chef they didn't find anything suspicious.

"Something doesn't count here!" Doctor said.

"I will give her the medicine for poisoning that could relieve her symptoms a bit but she can't be cured until we find out what poison she has been ingesting." He further added.
