The bakery was more busy than usual, with all the tables being nearly occupied, and the display case constantly having to be restocked. It's been a few days since the bakery was officially open, and it was already a big hit with the new location being in a more busy part of the town. With the addition of more workers and bakers, the bakery was still able to run more smoothly even without Sera helping it, as she sat at a table near the back, sipping on a latte coffee with Yoongi in front of her, taking a break from tending to the flowers to sip on an iced americano.
These past few days have been oddly calm for the two of them, falling into a mundane routine of going to the bakery to help out. Usually, Jun left early before the two even woke up to get the bakery started for the day, so they'd been having breakfast at the house with just the two of them. They'd then head off to the bakery to help out before having lunch there, before the two of them along with Jun would close the bakery and head home together to eat dinner.
Yoongi had been staying in the guest room because Jun insisted he should have it instead of continuing to sleep on the floor in Sera's room.
It was a comforting routine for Yoongi, something he needed since he separated from his soulmates and had been drifting day by day, not even knowing what he would be doing for the day. Most days, he'd just stay in his small studio apartment he got shortly after everyone left and sleep the days away.
So to have this routine was good for him.
"What are you gonna do now?" Sera suddenly asked, looking up from her phone as she was texting someone for a while, "I don't imagine you want to keep working at my dad's cafe for free," she joked a bit, giving a small smile to Yoongi. One that he wasn't used to yet because it seemed as if before, Sera's smile never quite reached her eyes, but now, her amber eyes seemed to shine so brightly.
"It doesn't sound that bad..." Yoongi confessed a bit, "Better than what I've been doing."
Yoongi noticed how there was a knowing look to Sera's smile, as he tore his gaze away from her amber eyes and stared at his coffee, watching the condensation drip down to the coaster.
Sometimes Yoongi wondered what exactly Sera was thinking about when she stared at him like that.
"But it's not what you really want to do, is it?" She asked softly.
So softly, to the point Yoongi couldn't make an excuse, "You're right..."
"Do you wanna find them?" Sera questioned, to which Yoongi stayed silent and it was enough of an answer for Sera, "I'll help you."
"Why?" Yoongi questioned, not understanding why Sera was once more, willing, to put herself through this drama with them. Especially when it seemed as if she was happier than ever now, "Aren't you busy with other things, why waste your time on us?" He questioned, as he already knows Sera has big ambitions, and doesn't have enough time to think about him and his problems.
Yet, time and time again, Sera always seemed to prove him wrong, "I don't think of this as a waste of time," there was a slight frown now at Yoongi's statement, but never once did the brightness in her eyes dim, "Yoongi, I care about you guys, so I truly want all of you to be happy."
Maybe what was holding him back from accepting her help, was fear of hurting her once more. Scared that one day, that sparkle in her amber eyes would dim once more. Eventually, the smile will stop reaching her eyes again, "Then what about you? Will helping me really help you? How far does this 'care' go?"
A selfish part of him wanted it to go far.
"Friends."
A simple word that spoke volumes to Yoongi, and crushed a bit of his heart.
