Emily's POV
"Are you guys sure she's up for this?" Lea ask JJ and I
We are meeting Alana and her foster parents today. It was Danielle's idea and we talked it through with her and she seems okay
That was up until today; she's just been unusually quiet today, we know it's probably the nerves but it was still a little worrisome to Lea
"I think she's fine, it's expected for her to be nervous and unsure about about things but I do think this is needed: she knows that if she wants to just leave we can" I tell lea and she nods and Danielle walks out of her room and comes over to JJ
"Are you ready sweetheart?" JJ whispers and she nods
"Alright... let's head out then" I say we all leave the apartment. Lea rode in her car behind the rest of us
We are meeting them at a park near their house so it's a little more comfortable for Danielle,
Lea is the one that has been communicating back and forth with Alanna's social worker so we haven't been able to talk to the parents directly,
When we got to the park Danielle was a bundle of nerves, she was pulling at her fingers and scratching at her hand
"Hey, what's going on?" I ask her from the front seat
"What if she doesn't like me?" She questions and I get out of the car and Danielle does the same so I could wrap my arms around her
"She's going to like you, I promise. If you want to leave just tell us and we will, no questions asked" I assure her and she nods
"Everything okay?" Lea ask while coming up to us and I nod
"We're good" I tell her and the four of us walk over and meet Alana's social worker that was standing near a gazebo, she is on the taller side with her red hair and green eyes,
"Hi! I'm Megan, it's nice to meet you guys" she tells us and shakes all of our hands, even Danielle's, though she stuck to my side the whole time
"Hi, Im Lea, we have been in contact. This is Emily, JJ and Danielle" Lea says and we smile
"Alana is right over there with Shannon and Tristen, her foster parents. Are you guys ready to meet her?"Megan asks us and I look to Danielle and she nods
"Okay, let's go" Megan smiles and the four of us follow her over to a couple that was sitting on a bench while a little girl was playing in a sand box in front of them
Admittedly I was a little worried about unwanted memories showing up for Danielle, especially if Alanna resembled the man that took advantage of her
They noticed us walking over and the woman called the little girl over and they stood up and waited for us to get closer
"Shannon, Tristen this is Lea, Emily, JJ and Danielle" Megan says while introducing us and we shake their hands
"Hi, it's nice to finally meet you all, this is Alanna, Alanna can you say hi?" Shannon ask the little girl and crouched down to talk to her
"Hi" she says and waves at us, Alanna is wearing a black romper with colorful flowers all over it, her hair is black and her piercing blue eyes match Danielle's
"Let's sit down?" I suggest to Danielle and she nods and sits down next to me with JJ on the other side
Danielle leaned her against me and Shannon whispered something to Alanna and she looked up to her
Alanna took a book that Shannon handed her and walked over to us and handed the book to Danielle before sitting directly into her lap
It took Danielle by surprise and she looked up to me and over to JJ
