The New Boy

Chapter 1

Cruel by The Veronicas blasts out of my speakers as I dress into the first thing I see.

My hair is normal and I haven't got make-up on. I'm wearing skinny jeans and a Twenty One Pilots t-shirt.

I run downstairs and quickly eat a piece of toast. I grab my skateboard and bag, and run outside. I push of the concrete and skate down the path. When I get to the school gates, I pull my skateboard off the ground and enter the front doors.

First period is Japanese, so I get my books from my locker and make my way to the school's hall.

On Monday, we always have an assembly.

I see my best friend, Simon, in our usual seats so I go over and sit down.

"Hey Simon!" I say.

He looks up from his book, pushing his glasses up his nose.

"Hey Y/N."

I see that he's reading Harry Potter as he slides it into his bag.

"Your reading it!" I say excitedly.

Simon is a real geek and he reads a lot! But for some reason he didn't read Harry Potter. I've been begging him for ages, and now he's reading it!

Simon goes to reply, but his voice is drowned out by the sound of a voice on the microphone.

Basically the teacher rambles on about normal assignments and crap. But then he catches my attention when he mentions a new boy.

"Also," he starts. "a warm welcome to Chandler Riggs, our new student."

I freeze at his name.

Chandler Riggs.

He plays Carl on The Walking Dead, and I've had a huge crush on him since I was ten.

I gulp and turn around, looking the direction everyone else is. And I see him.

Chandler Carlton Riggs.
