"Mommy, kain ka na po." Sambit ko sa nakahigang pigura ni Mommy Tilly. Kanina pa kasi siya hindi lumalabas ng kwarto at hindi rin niya ginagalaw ang mga pagkain na ihinahain ng mga katulong dito sa loob.
Patuloy lang siya sa paghikbi niya. "I miss Yuri,"
"I know, Mommy...but you have to eat first. Momma Yuri will be mad if you keep skipping your meals." Tumuntong ako sa kama at tumapat kung saan siya nakaharap. Mugto ang mga mata nito at basa na rin ang unan na hinihigaan ng ulo niya.
Pinunasan ko ang mga luha niya gamit ang mga mumunti kong kamay at sabay haplos sa kanyang buhok. I smiled at her, I know how they love my smiling face.
"Everything will be okay, Mommy. Baby Yunis is alive. She's a lucky child."
She forced a smile. "Have you seen her? Here, she really looks like your momma Yuri." Kinuha nito ang phone niya na nasa harapan nito. Nakaopen na ito dahil nakita ko agad ang mukha ng babaeng mahal na mahal niya bago pa man niya ipakita sa akin ang kapapanganak lang na picture ni Yunis. Hinawakan ko ang phone ni Mommy para tignan mabuti ang picture ng baby.
My heart thumps abnormally when I saw the cute little face of her, namumula ang mga pisngi nito, ang tangos ng ilong, maputi ang balat, ang mga labi nito ay pulang pula, nakapikit pa ang mga mumunting mata nito at halos kakaunti lang ang buhok niya sa ulo.
I unconsciously smiled and felt my cheeks turn red with the sight of the sleeping beauty.
"You like her." My mom said. It's not a question. She's sure of it.
"I love her." I said, correcting her.
She chuckled at my statement. "You sure do." Hinaplos niya ako sa pisngi at binigyan ako ng malungkot na ngiti.
"I love you too, Mommy, so much! Please don't give up on me." I dropped her phone to my side and leaned to her laying figure to give her a comforting hug.
I heard her silent sniffles. "I love you, my Love. Thank you for being here with mommy."
My heart warms with it. I decided to broke the hug and plastered a cheeky smile on her. "Kain na po?"
She nods and lets herself sit, her back resting on the headboard of her huge bed.
I watch her eat the food I'm giving her. While she looks at me, reading my thoughts. I just stayed quiet. Ayaw kong magmukhang kulang sa pansin na bata at magtampo dahil lang hindi nabati--
"Happy Birthday, Love." My eyes went wide when I heard her say that. "I'm sorry, I was too occupied by your Momma Yuri's loss. I didn't mean to forget your birthday."
