Chapter 19: Chaos At The Library

Luz POV:

Max?!

I looked over to Amity and.. Max, talking. They're just talking right, just coworkers talking, there's no reason to be jealous right?

I shook my head, I trust Amity! She wouldn't do anything with Max right? They're just coworkers after all.

But I couldn't shake off the feeling that Max would do something to Amity... I- I just have this gut feeling.

 "Where's your friend?" Max asked, it was muffled because there was a wooden shelf in between us but I could still make out words.

"What friend?" Amity asked back, I walked to the end of the shelf so I could get a clear view but they couldn't see me.

"Don't you remember? Your friend that you brought last time?" he stepped a bit closer. "O-Oh  you mean Luz?" Amity stepped backwards until her back was against the shelf.

"She's not my friend though.." Amity furrowed her eyebrows, "she's my girl-" 

"I don't care who she is to you" Max interrupted, making  Amity surprised "is she here with you?"  Amity stood still.

"Amity.." Max took a step forward "I like you" "L-like?" Amity stuttered. Max nodded "I like you Amity Blight" he repeated.

 Amity stood there, her face was painted with shock and a bit of disgust "Max.. I- I can't, I have someone already" Amity said.

"What? like a boyfriend? He doesn't have to know~" He smirked "And plus I bet I'm 10 times better than him"  Max came closer to her and caressed her cheek.

As soon as I saw that I pulled out my phone and pressed record.

"M-Max.. I don't like this" I saw her eyes water "Shhhh no one has to know about us~" Max smiled devilishly.

"Max please.. s-stop" she tried to push him but he resisted. "If you keep doing that I might have to fire you, I know how much this job means to you" Max gritted his teeth.

Amity's eyes widened,  she stopped trying.

My fingers dug into the wooden shelf I was holding onto, making holes into the wood.

"That's the Amity I know" He whispered into her ear, he pinned her against the shelf.

"Now.. be good for me and be quiet" he said before smashing his disgusting lips into Amity's, a tear rolled down Amity's cheek.

That was it for me "HEY!" I slammed my hand onto the shelf, making a loud 'BANG' sound.

I made my way over to them and shoved Max off of Amity "Oh there's you friend-" "Girlfriend, she's taken" I flipped him off as I pulled Amity close.

"Dude, mind your own business! Amity help me out here" he looked at Amity, I blocked his view "she doesn't have to say anything to you" I glared at him.

"Hand her over o- or else I'll fire her!" he threatened, I let go of Amity and walked over to him.

I grabbed the collar of his shirt "I swear to fucking god" I chuckled "If Amity loses her fucking job because of you" I giggled a bit more louder "you're FUCKING DEAD, DO YOU HEAR ME?" I shouted.

Max didn't say anything, he just nodded.

"Good" I huffed.

I let him go, he dropped to the ground with a 'THUD' and I walked to Amity. I grabbed her wrist and dragged her to her secret room.

I closed it and turned to Amity "I left you for 1 second and you already got yourself in trouble?" I sighed. Amity's eyes darted at the floor "I-I'm sorry.." she muttered.
