Zero was drifting through a space akin to a void. It was a blank slate. The reason he was able to remain in a place with absolutely no data was because of independent manifestation skill. He could exist anywhere, even in a place where absolutely nothing could exist. That even extended to avatars he used in virtual reality. The avatars are data, and technically shouldn't exist in spaces with no data... But since when did Zero follow common sense?

He suddenly manifested outside. It was day time.

He could see a holographic screen in front of him. And static coming from it. But.... After a few moments, he could hear a familiar voice.

Bronya: <K— — cho- ear— e?... Kan—ou? Can... You hear Bronya's voice?>

Zero: Oh? Bronya! I can finally hear you!

Bronya: <It finally connected... Kanchou... How do you currently feel?>

Zero: So far, I'm fine. But...

Bronya: <It's alright. Although Bronya couldn't contact or observe you, Bronya collected data from your NerveGear, so she has an idea of what's going on. Some entity is intentionally interfering with you, to make sure you can't reach the principal.>

Zero: That explains a lot... I've been sent to some other place entirely.

Bronya: <The entity that's within the Stigma is responsible. And it's been performing continuous cycles. Or "time loops" in a sense within the memory space you have found yourself in. After it's failure in the last one, it activated another cycle within that space, dragging you all the way back.>

Zero: You know I just realised that although this is virtual reality, this isn't a game, and that there's no log out button. 💀💀 ... Well, I don't need to worry about leaving till I find Teriri. So, how do I get out of this place and find her?

Bronya: <An outside force must intervene and end this endless and tragic samsara. Those trapped within it will never be freed. In other words, it's all up to you, Kanchou. However... It will be risky... If you wish it, I can pull you out manually from the real world, your body is still here so it will be simple.>

Zero: Nah. Now that I'm here, I feel sorry for Sakura, might as well end her suffering in one way or another. And I still have to find Teriri. Although... I have a feeling time is flowing faster here then it is in the real world.

Bronya: <Da. I forcibly synchronised the rate at which time flows within the stigma memory space in order to speak with you, but other than that you're experiencing the flow of time much much faster than us, so you have a little more leeway to take your time and figure things out before you find the principal.>

Zero: Aight. Simple enough.

Bronya: <Loading memory space. Kanchou, remember the key sequences of the last cycle.>

The hologram disappeared, and Zero's surroundings then distorted, it changing to make Zero appear in a different part of the forest.

After blinking, he saw Sakura.

Zero: !!! Sakura...

However she was speaking to him like normal, as if he didn't just spontaneously appear in front of him.
