CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

Start from the beginning

That's why she clinged unto Edward no matter how many times he annoyed her, because he was always there, he will always be around to bug her, disturb her.

It was like a constant in her life, one she had total control on, but Kate came and made him throw her under the bus.

She felt defeated despite the fake facade she usually put on, she was really disturbed and didn't tell anyone about it.

Oh, Rita

I didn't always have her time despite she was always there for me, that's was why she was close with me, I was a variable in her life reminding her that nothing was constant.

But now, wasn't my time to butt in their argument, I decided to stay still just like Amy and Hailey and become invisible if that's was possible.

To let her pour her hearts out so she could finally be free.

This made me realize something, Rita could have liked Edward as more than a pest, a friend... Something more but she was afraid with his constant flirting.

"I'm sorry Rita," Edward said pleadingly, now getting up on his feet to face her.

"No you are not..."

"You have to understand me..."

"Why?...why do I always have to be the understanding one. Why? Why did it have to be you?" She said exasperated

She was already tired, wanting to give up, this was the time I was expected to make my presence known.

"Don't give me that, I had given you hint, times over, you have always given me the cold shoulder, how was i supposed to know how you felt, you never let me in. It was always Dan." It was his turn to shout.

His vintage shirt, which was slightly open at the top showed his heavy breathing from having lashed out now.

His hands fisted at his sides out of frustration, it was getting way out of hand now.

"That's because he was the only one I could understand, he was closed off and simple, though his harsh demeanor he showed outside, I knew he had a lovely and soft inside, he was..." She hesitated for awhile, turned to look at me, I couldn't read the look in her face, it was a mix of pain, sorrow, regrets, sadness.

Where was she going?

I responded by the stoic look on my face, "...there" she pointed at me. "He is so unreadable, that's why I could read him, we were both damaged" she said laughing to herself.

I knew i was the only variable in her life but I didn't know that it reminded her of herself, her pain.

How could she live like that?

I was glad that we were the only ones who occupied this hallway, I didn't need any extra eyes in the drama that unfolded just now.

It was a lot.

Kate walked in, her flip-flops slapping the ground heavily, ah, I forgot that we stay here with Kate also, speak of the devil and she will appear.

She halted her footsteps noticing the tensed atmosphere, she ignored Amy who was pleading with her with her eyes.

I was glad that Amy had covered Hailey ears and eyes to whatever that went on now.

She turned towards Edward who had not yet noticed her presence.

Was she really going to talk with him in this mood.

She was a real bitch, a sheep in a wolf clothes, I only wished Amy will realized it early.

"Ca.." she cleared her throat, that was okay to snap both Rita and Edward awake.

Cause after that she said "Your little bitch is here, let me go where I'm actually wanted and useful." With that she left swaying her hips about, ignoring Edward's call.

Damn! Rita really knew how to take control.

I didn't have any business with Kate, I stood up, ushering Hailey into my room with Edward on my tail, I knew somehow it was going to involve Hailey and I didn't want Hailey near all this abuse, harsh words

"Edward wait..." She called out "What?" He begrudgingly answered.

"I have something to say" she hesitated for a bit.

Now this pique my curiosity, "If you can't say it here, don't bothered cause nothing you'll say, this circle won't here"

"...I... Edward..." She stammered, "Come on just spit it out," he yelled at her, transferring his pent up anger at her.

"I AM PREGNANT" she yelled back, it was as if his shout was a driving for e to her courage.

But, wait, what?
