CHAPTER NINETEEN

DAN'S POV

It was like 45 minutes into the movie, Hailey was on my lap passed out already.

I took her up, clearing the litters of biscuits wraps and berries on her body.

I carried her on my shoulder and walk towards her room, deciding to drop her off in my room tonight incase she had nightmares.

I didn't want her roaming around, i was halfway to my room when i heard loud screech, i turned trying to source out the sound.

It sounded like it was coming from the living room, i went to check seeing that the place was so damn noisy, no one turned an inch.

They were deaf to their surroundings, going back to drop off Hailey, i went towards the living room seeing Miss Lydia sucking up the face of a guard.

No wonder they couldn't sense anything, I saw the others immersed into the movie, it was halfway done already.

I walked towards Mrs. Ashley, "Ma, did you hear anything just now." I asked her.

She tensed up immediately before she replied "Nonsense kid, are you sure it wasn't from the movie."

That was suspicious, i didn't tell her what sounds i heard, and she didn't ask.

Either she knew about it or she was dense, i thought.

"Go on seat child, the movie is almost done"

I looked around seemingly to look for Mr. Derrick, but he wasn't hear.

"Looking for something child?" I heard her say, i hadn't left the spot i was with her.

"Yes , Mr. Derrick" i said trying to see if she knew something about his whereabouts.

"Oh.. he went out, wanting to sort out his business" she said hurriedly.

What was wrong with this woman?

If she wanted me out of sight, she could have said so.

And what was going on with Mr. Derrick, he has been up with one business or the other.

I remembered when we first got here, seeing how pale his skin was, he was trembling lightly.

I doubt I was the only one who saw it were there really ghost here or what.

I moved away from her when i heard the sounds again, deafening now it was the same time I saw Juliet screamed after founding out Romeo took his life for her.

I turned towards the entrance seeing two guards up there who didn't even flinch as if they heard anything.

Looking back i saw Mrs. Ashley tensed up, she did hear it.

I knew it, but why lie?

Was there really ghosts here?

Did Mr. Derrick knew about this?

What was he doing trying to endanger is by bringing us here?

Or was he a psychopath?

OMG! Does he kill people?

Was that his secret?

Now I wished i had not heard anything, and oblivious like the others were.

Ignorance sure is bliss i thought.

Trying to stay calm, j went back to my seat, Rita came up to me, asking "Where did you go to? You missed the highlight."

"Hailey." I said simply, she muttered a quick "Oh"
