As it would turn out, I did indeed miss a turn.

Luckily with a bit of course correction, and a slight amount of illegal driving, (which Ahri disliked), we made it to the cancer research hospital on time.

I knew exactly where to go, they had special areas for VIP. I go up the parking lot until I met with the guard.

Me: "We're here for Micheal as a part of the Final Wish foundation."

The gruff man in the booth nodded with a grunt.

???: "I'll need to see some ID."

That's when I panic.

I don't have any form of identification!

That's when Ahri peered over from the passages seat.

Ahri: "You need ID?"

The man's eyes go wide.

???: "Oh! I am sorry Ahri, please head up to the top floor your parking spot is already reserved. Number twenty four."

Ahri was about to say something, but I cut her off.

Me: "Thank you sir."

I roll up the window and keep driving before the guard changed his mind.

Ahri: "You don't have ID do you?"

I glance at her, but turn back to the road.

Me: "I was robbed early on, and I ended up losing my drivers license, which was the only form of identification I had on me."

She frowns.

Ahri: "I'm sorry to hear that."

I shake my head.

Me: "Don't be, I stabbed his brother a few days later."

Her eyes widened.

Ahri: "Huh?"

I shake my head with a smile.

Me: "Lighten up foxy, I'm only joking."

She gives me a half smile.

Ahri: "A little violent for a joke, don't you think?"

I shake my head.

Me: "When you're poor, sometimes you gotta make shit up to get by, understand?"

She hummed.

Ahri: "Yeah, I get what you're saying."

She nodded, now smiling again.

Ahri: "You always give me mixed signals. It's hard to tell what you mean sometimes."

She chuckled.

Ahri: "I should have know you'd make up a story like that."

I chuckled right back as I made it to the top floor.

Me: "Of course... I'd never let anyone rob me like that."

Her head spun fast to look at me and I looked at her with a smirk, she finally understood the punchline.

She shook her head.

Ahri: "Your jokes are very strange."

I shrug.

Me: "Sorry, I can't be any less funny for ya."

I pull into spot twenty four with a smile on my face.

Kind.

She's very kind.
