Together Again

The ground cracked underneath her feet, she walked slowly, as if she was floating, waiting for her demise.

A ship came into view, and her heartbeat picked up, had they finally found her?

Were they going to kill her, right here and there?

She stood in her place, her cloak flowing in the wind.

Would she let them?

The ship landed, the dust blew away underneath it as it retracted its metal wings.

The ramp slid down, setting itself onto the surface.

A cloaked figure walked down, and she briefly wondered if they were the one they sent to kill her.

She wearily eyed the figure as she placed a hand onto her shoto lightsaber.

She had given up her main one to keep her survival a secret.
It seemed the ruse had failed.

The figure removed its hood and she gasped.

"Hey, Snips."

She wondered if he was real, or if her mind was playing tricks on her after months of isolation.

He opened his arms, signaling her to join him.

She willingly did so, running into his arms.
He wrapped her into a bone crushing hug and she pushed her face into his chest.

"You're alive."
A whisper barely heard.

He hummed, "Why wouldn't I be?"

"I-I felt it." She whispered.

"You were gone."

He stood silent for a moment then spoke up, "For a moment."

"But I realized there were better ways."

She didn't respond, letting his words sink in.

"Padme?"

He let go of her but kept his hands on her shoulders.
"She's well."

He hesitated for a moment before parting his lips to speak, "I'm a father now."

A small gasp escaped from her lips, then a grin.

"Where are they now?"

"Tatooine."

She laughed, "But you hate sand."

He smiled, "Maybe, but if it's to keep my family safe, I can deal with a bit of sand."

She smirked and rolled her eyes, "And Master Kenobi?"

He placed an arm around her shoulders and pulled her to his ship, "He's there too."

Ahsoka let out a sigh of relief, "Rex is also on the run, we have to find him."

Anakin nodded, "We will, but now, we're going home, because you still have to meet my kids."

She turned to him in disbelief, "Kids as in multiple?" She exclaimed.

He threw his head back and laughed, "Yes, Snips, twins."

She shook her head in exasperation, her lekku whipping her cheeks.

He titled his head to the side to get to her level, "They'll love you."

She flashed him a smile, and sighed in contentment.
"I missed you, Skyguy."

He pet the valley between her montrals,
"Me too, Ahsoka."

They entered the ship, it was small but it would work.

He planted a kiss on her forehead and sat down in the pilot's seat, she sat next to him.

They shared one last look before starting the engine and taking off.

Skyguy and Snips, together again, exactly how it was supposed to be.
