Chapter 29

After exerting all Itt's energy in the bathroom, Day carried Itt to the bed where Salmon was now sleeping. The cartoon he had been watching had ended a long time ago, as well.

"Look, you let my nephew sleep by all himself for a long time," Itt grumbled while sitting still for Day to put his clothes on for him. He was utterly exhausted. He would have closed his eyes by now, but he wanted to scold his lover for what he did in the bathroom. So, Itt forced himself to stay awake.

"Stop complaining and go to sleep. Aren't you sleepy?" Day said after putting Itt's clothes on him and giving him a soft kiss on his temple. Itt nodded. His eyes were feeling very heavy. Day moved to pick up Salmon, who had fallen asleep in the middle of the bed and moved him to the side of the bed that was against the wall. Then, he moved Itt to lay down next to him. As soon as Itt's head hit the pillow, he almost fell asleep. He instantly regained his consciousness to ask his lover a question.

"Where are you going?" Itt asked in a hoarse voice. His eyes were squinting as he watched Day get out of bed. He covered Salmon and Itt with a blanket. Then, Day bent down and placed a kiss on Itt's lips.

"I'm going to turn off the lights and check on something. I will come back to bed soon," Day said before going into the living room to turn off the TV. He checked the room to make sure everything was in order before laying down next to Itt on the bed. A strong hand slipped into the blanket and pulled Itt into a hug. Itt was lying with his back facing Day. Itt was now completely asleep.

Day was startled slightly when something shook his arm. He slowly opened his eyes and became confused when he saw Salmon standing beside his bed. Salmon's eyes were red, and he looked as if he was about to cry.

"Salmon, why did you get out of bed?" Day sprang up and asked the little boy.

"Uncle Day... I have got to pee really bad... I am scared to go to the bathroom alone... I tried to wake up Uncle Itt, but he wouldn't wake up," the little boy said pitifully. Day knew that Salmon must have mustered up a lot of courage to come wake him up. Day looked at the clock on the bedroom wall.

"It's already morning. Why are you scared to go to the bathroom alone?" Day asked back. Salmon tilted his head slightly.

"Is it morning already?" asked the little boy. He had lost track of time, and the sun was not yet shining through the bedroom curtains. Day reached over to turn on a small light for Salmon to see his way to the bathroom.

"Yes, it's morning...could you go to the bathroom by yourself?" Day asked again. Salmon nodded and gave him a smile before running into the bathroom. Day sighed and raised his hands to lightly rub his temples. He had been woken up after having barely slept last night. Even so, after being woken up, Day would not be able to fall back asleep. Day turned to look at Itt, who was still sleeping. He gently pulled the blanket back over him. Soon, Salmon walked out of the bathroom again.

"Are you going back to sleep?" Day asked the little boy. Salmon shook his head.

"I want to watch cartoons," said the little boy.

"Then you will need to go watch them in the living room. You can't watch them in the bedroom because Uncle Itt is still asleep," Day said because he knew how tired his lover was.

"It's morning. Can I wake him up?" the little boy naively asked.

"You don't need to wake him up yet. Just let Uncle Itt sleep. You can wash your face and brush your teeth, and then you can come into the living room. I will go and turn on a cartoon for you and wait for you out there," Day ordered Salmon. The little boy nodded his head in acceptance before getting up to go back into the bathroom.
