Author's POV

(In most cases, doctors hold a preoperative meeting or briefing to discuss the details of the upcoming surgery. This meeting is known as the surgical time-out, and it is typically attended by all members of the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses, and other support staff. During the surgical time-out, the team will review important information about the patient, such as medical history and allergies, and discuss the specific details of the procedure, including any potential risks or complications. The purpose of the time-out is to ensure that everyone is on the same page and to minimize the risk of errors during the surgery.)

At the conference room...

As Dr Park and Teacher Kim's team planned Lee Joo-Young's surgery, they gathered around a conference table in the hospital.

"We need to stop the bleeding in her brain," Dr Park said, looking at the images of her injuries. "I'm thinking we'll need to do a craniotomy to access the area."

Teacher Kim nodded, "Agreed. We'll need to make sure we have an experienced anesthesiologist to monitor her vital signs during the procedure."

The neurosurgeon, Dr Jang Se-jin, added, "I'll assist you in the surgery, Dr Park. And, we need to make sure we have the right equipment and team in place."

Dr Go Seung-tak, the trauma surgeon, chimed in, "We'll make sure to monitor her blood pressure and oxygen levels during the surgery. And, we'll have a backup plan in case anything goes wrong."

Dr Park turned to Teacher Kim, "We need to make sure we're using the latest techniques and technology to minimize the risk."

Teacher Kim nodded, "I'll reach out to some of my colleagues in the field to get their advice and insights."

As they discussed the surgery, Dr Park couldn't help but feel a sense of determination and responsibility towards Lee Joo-Young. He knew that the surgery would be difficult, but he was confident that their team had the expertise and dedication needed to save her life.

Dr. Park felt a familiar knot in his stomach as he prepared for the surgery. This wasn't the first time he had operated on a celebrity, but it was the first time he had operated on someone he knew personally. Lee Joo Young was lying unconscious on the operating table, and he couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness for his crush.

In the Hallway to the Operating room....

As the team made their way to the operating room, they were suddenly approached by Yeonjun, Lee Joo-Young's boyfriend, as well as a throng of media and fans.

"What's going on here?" Yeonjun demanded. "Why can't I be with her?"

Dr Park turned to face him, "I'm sorry, but only the operating team is allowed in the room during the surgery. We need to focus on saving her life."

Yeonjun scowled,"But I'm her boyfriend! I have a right to be with her."

Dr Jang stepped forward, "I understand how you feel, but right now, our priority is Lee Joo-Young's health and safety. We'll update you as soon as the surgery is over."

As Yeonjun introduced himself to the team, the media and fans started to swarm around them, trying to get a closer look.

"What's her condition?"

"Will she be okay?"

"Is she still conscious?"

Dr Park spoke up, "I'm sorry, but we can't comment on her condition at this time. We ask for your understanding and patience."

Despite the chaos around them, the team remained focused and determined to save Lee Joo-Young's life. They made their way to the operating room, ready to perform the delicate surgery.

At the Operating Room....

As the medical team prepared for the surgery, they were joined by Dr Hoon, the anesthesiologist. He quickly got to work, preparing the patient for the anaesthesia and monitoring her vitals.

As the other doctors prepared for the surgery, Dr. Park took a deep breath and tried to focus on the task at hand. Teacher Kim, the General Surgeon and Cardiothoracic Surgeon, was leading the operation. Dr. Jang, the Neurosurgeon, was on hand in case there were any complications with Lee Joo Young's brain function. Dr. Go, the Trauma Surgeon, was assisting with the surgery.

Dr. Park stood at the head of the operating table, observing the team as they prepared for the craniotomy. Teacher Kim was busy scrubbing in, while Dr. Go checked the equipment and Dr. Jang monitored Lee Joo Young's vitals.

Dr Go Seung Tak, the trauma surgeon, briefed the team on the patient's condition and the surgical plan. "We need to repair the damage to her skull and spine as soon as possible to prevent further damage and bleeding," he said.

Dr Kim, the cardiothoracic surgeon, chimed in, "We also need to make sure her heart and lungs are stable throughout the surgery."

Dr Jang Se Jin, the neurosurgeon, nodded in agreement. "I will focus on repairing the damage to her brain."

Dr Park, the emergency medicine physician, added, "We need to make sure we minimize the risk of infection and keep her stable throughout the surgery."

The team observed the patient on the table, her pale complexion and the machines beeping in the background. Dr Jang took a deep breath and turned to the team. "Let's begin the craniotomy," she said, her voice firm and steady.

As the surgery progressed, Dr Kim monitored the patient's vital signs, keeping a close eye on her heart rate and blood pressure. "We're making progress," he said to the team, offering words of encouragement.

Dr Jang worked on repairing the damage to the patient's brain, while Dr Kim and Dr Go focused on stabilizing her heart and lungs. Dr Hoon adjusted the anaesthesia levels as needed, ensuring the patient remained comfortable throughout the procedure.

The team worked quickly and efficiently, performing the surgery with great care and precision. Throughout the operation, Dr Hoon monitored the patient's vital signs, adjusting the anaesthesia levels as necessary to ensure her safety and comfort.

After hours of intense concentration and hard work, the surgery was finally complete. The team breathed a sigh of relief. "The surgery was a success," Dr Go announced to the team. "Now we just need to keep a close eye on her during the recovery process."

Just then, Yeonjun, the patient's boyfriend, burst into the operating room with a throng of reporters and fans in tow. "How is she? Can I see her?" he demanded.

Dr Park stepped forward to address the crowd. "Her condition is stable, but she's not out of the woods yet," Dr Park announced.

"We'll need to keep her in the ICU for at least a few days."

"I'm sorry, but we need to focus on the patient's recovery right now. We will provide updates as soon as we can."

Dr Kim added, "She's in good hands. We're doing everything we can to make sure she recovers quickly and fully."

Yeonjun nodded, his eyes filled with tears. "Thank you for everything you've done for her," he said. "I don't know what I would have done without you."

The team smiled wearily, knowing that they had done their best to save Lee Joo-Young's life. They knew that the road to recovery would be a long one, but they were determined to see her through it.
