Ch 24. faint

Gabriel

"Number 5 out!" "9 you are in" the coach said and I went to sit on the bench

The last week my performance is not very good but I have to fix it because in less than a week there is the big match and it is my only chance for a place in the national team
Rather than that it's exam season and the pressure is huge because I have to balance school work with practice

When I finished practice I got a phone call from Amelia
I picked up the phone and the first thing I heard was her crying

Me: what happened
Amelia: Gabriel can you talk...

"Gabriel we still have practice where are you going" the coach yelled
Amelia was more important that the practice

Me: yes I'm in the car
Amelia: no..no..please don't come it's not that important
Me: important or not im coming
        What happened?
Amelia: I had a panic attack and I-
              My parents are not -
              I...I'm
Me: Amelia talk to me!!!
        AMELIAAAA!! Talk to me
        Princess do you hear me?!!

"Shit, Shit, Shit" I yelled and started driving faster
In less than 10m I was outside of Amelia's house
"AMELIA" I started yelling and knocked the door
"Please please don't be dead" I whispered and tried to open the door
Then I remembered that they hide a key in the backyard
I passed the fence and entered the backyard and found the key...I got back to the front door

I opened the door and the first thing I found was Amelia next to the counter on the floor holding her phone
"Amelia please don't leave" I said and started crying
I checked to see if her pulse was steady
Hopefully they were
She was still breathing, that was a good sign
I called the ambulance and they came as quick as they could

During the way to the hospital she woke up
"Gabriel...where" she said
I could see that she was still dizzy
"You are Okey....we are going to the hospital for a check up okey" I said and kissed her
The Doctors made same tests and we waited for the results

One hour later the doctor came in
"She is completely fine" "She had a panic attack and fainted" "The faint was caused by the low iron and probably of the lack of food" the doctor said
"So I can take her home?" I asked
"Yes of course" "Just make sure she eats that's all" "Also I need your name sir" the doctor said and took some papers out of her folder
"My name is Gabriel Arela" I said
"Are you a family member?" The doctor asked
"Sorry I'm not..I'm actually her..boyfriend" I said and looked at her
I could see a smile appearing on her face

"Okey perfect" "You are ready to go" "Just inform the girl's parents so they know" The doctor said and left the room
"Yes of course" I said

I called my mother to pick us up because I didn't have my car
On the whole ride Amelia was sleeping and I was so anxious because I thought that she was slowly dying
Stupid I know..but she never talks about herself or her health and I'm really worried

"I can't stay to your house" She said with a sleepy and calm voice
"Ofc you can!" "Amelia your parents are out of town and you just had a panic attack and fainted" "You think I'm going to leave you alone" I said and gave her my hand so she could stand up
"But I don't want to be a bother" "Rather than that I don't have any of my stuff" She said
"Okey fine If you don't feel want to stay in my house it's Okey but if you go to your house I'm coming with you" I said and grabbed her by her waist before she leaves

We decided to go to Amelia's house for the night
Amelia opened the door and walked directly to the couch
"Amelia you have to eat" "You can't even stand for 2 minutes" I said and closed the door
"But I ate I swear" she said and looked at me
"Then why the doctor said that the faint was caused from lack of food" I said and opened the fridge
I noticed that Amelia stopped looking at me and she was just laying on the couch holding a pillow
"Why are you doing this to yourself" I said and knelt next to her in front of the couch
"Because I want to be pretty and skinny and if not any of this things you are not going to love me anymore" she said and tears started appearing in her eyes

"No...no..don't say that..you are pretty and your body us perfect" "Because you can't see how beautiful you are doesn't mean that other people don't see it" I said and touched her cheek
"Thank you for believing this" "And sorry for being so self-centered and only talking about my problems....because you probably have problems too and you don't want to talk about them because you care so much about mine" she said and looked at me
"But I don't have problems" "There is nothing to worry about" I said avoiding eye contact
"But I know that something is running through your head" she said with a small smile

"Okey...maybe...but it's something stupid" I said
"Nothing is stupid" "You can tell me" she said and kissed me
"The only thing I'm worried about is the game before spring break" "The training is getting harder and the school is so demanding and I think that I will fail both" I said and looked at her
"Okey this is actually stupid" "You are the best on your team and your school performance is better than ever" "I can't help you with your practice but I can help you with your homework" she said and make space to the couch

I sat next to her and hugged her
"Promise me that we will never leave each other" she said
"Have you ever seen a princess leave her prince charming" I said laughing
"Also if you are doing all this to avoid eating then you don't know me that well" I said and got up
"Fine I will eat" she said and followed me to the kitchen

For the rest of the night we watched Dune, it's one of her favorite action movies, and we eventually ended up falling asleep on the couch

One of the hardest chapters to write but I think it turned out so good

Also the fact that I'm spending more time on the book than doing my homework is just ridiculous
