When the rest of the school returned from their shopping trip, I was sitting in my room, staring at the same point I had been for the past few hours. A little silver elephant sitting in my hand that effectively deactivated my brain.

I didn't realize they had come back until Anita walked into the room. She flung multiple shopping bags onto her bed and gave an excited squeal. "I can't wait for you to see what I got you! You're gonna turn heads chika! Check it out really quick. I have to use the bathroom." Okay then. TMI.

Happy for the distraction, I placed the necklace onto the table at the end of my bed and went to look at the articles of clothing Anita had left for me to sift through.

I opened a bag, and was rewarded with a horror story. It was...pink. Why pink!? There was a pair of white skinny jeans; a long sleeved, happy whale grey, v-necked t shirt; and, to my horror, a magenta (shudder) jacket, with long sleeves but a cropped waist that looked incredibly warm. Lastly, there was a pair of snow boots the same color as the jacket.

"ANITA, I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" I screamed. She was back in the room in seconds, which isn't the best reaction when someone makes a death threat. I held up the jacket. "PINK!?" I yelled again.

She stared at me blankly, then cracked up. She walked towards a very confused me and took the jacket. "That's mine Ella. I know you hate anything girly. I would never give you something pink." She said in between her laughter. I looked at the outfit, then to Anita.

"Hmm... I guess it would be a good color on you." I looked at her seriously. Two seconds later, we were both hysterically laughing. Like I had any fashion sense!

After we had both calmed down, she picked up another bag and pulled out a pair of grey pants, a long, deep blue sweater, and a pair of grey boots slightly darker than the pants.

"This is yours." She said after pulling everything out of the various bags. I nodded. It was a lot more me than the first one. Looking at the two outfits side by side, I realized that what I lacked in fashion sense, Anita made up for five times over. They were very flattering, but not to the point of looking trashy, and would keep us warm in the meat locker that would be the gym.

"You did really well Anita" I said. Smiling at her. "Thank you." She pursed her lips into a smile and looked around the room.

"You know what you can do to repay me?" She asked.

I didn't like the maniacal look in her eye, and yet I still asked, "What?".

She grinned and walked over to the only bag left on the bed that hadn't been opened, and to my dismay, pulled out more beauty products than I knew existed. "You'll let me do your hair and makeup. Obviously!"

I cringed. Tomorrow would be interesting.

---------------------------------------------

I walked down the hall to the gym the next day, three hours before the dance would start. Ms. Wren told me to be there three hours early to decorate. I would have time to get ready after.

When I reached the doors that opened to the gym, Ms. Wren was already waiting for me.

"You have fifteen minutes to set this up before the teachers show up to help with the food, tables, ice skates... You know the deal. Do the best you can." She gestured to the doors and stepped aside. The moment I walked through, she closed them behind me.

The gym looked completely empty without anyone or anything in it. I walked to the center of the room, where I intended to have the dance floor- the only part of the gym that wouldn't be frozen.

As I walked, I reached inside of me for the power that would let me complete my task. I felt it course through my veins, touching every inch of my body. I willed it to create ice and snow, then channeled it through my feet. As I stood in the middle of the room, ice crept from my feet and spread across the surface if the floor. Once the entirety of the floor was covered, Other than the area that would be the dance floor, I moved to the walls. Beautiful patterns of frost climbed delicately up the walls, making me feel like Elsa.

When I finished, the room looked like a beautiful freezer. An empty one though. I readied myself for the hard part. To save time, I was going to try to create all the different activities at once. I closed my eyes and pictured how the gym would look when I finished. Around me, I felt snow blowing all around me, as if a blizzard had kicked up. Wind screamed in my ears as it blew ice and snow into their correct positions. A flying sliver of ice sliced through the air and cut my cheek upon contact. I couldn't hear anything, and I was afraid to open my eyes for fear of flying chunks of ice.

Eventually, the sound of the flurry died down, and I could open my eyes without fear. When I did open my eyes, I was incredibly proud of what I saw. The snow ball forts towered above the gym floor, glistening and made of solid ice. The sledding hill was covered with a fresh, powdery dusting of snow; as was the floor of the gym other than the ice skating rink and dance floor. Everything was exactly as I had imagined it and more.

"Woah! So cool!" I heard an airy voice behind me. I wheeled around to find none other than Addison standing inside the doors.

"Addy!" I said eyes wide. What had she seen? "When did... why... How long have you been there?" I tried to sound casual. Don't think that worked very well.

"Oh, not long. This is so cool!" She went on like that for another minute or so, while I just stood there staring at her. How was I going to explain this away? Was Addison, the epitome of the blonde stereotype, going to be my undoing?

Eventually, I just cut straight to the point. "Addy, you can't tell anyone what you've seen here. You weren't supposed to be here this early." She looked at me, her face full of confusion.

"May said to be here at three..." She trailed off, distracted by the icy chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. So May had put her up to it!

"You definatly can not tell May. " I emphasized. "Now you should probably leave before Ms. Wren catches you here and you get in trouble." I spoke carefully, as if I was speaking to a child. She just nodded and flounced out of the room.

I had to be more careful. May was closer to my secret than I thought, and if anyone would exploit it, it would be her.

Hey guys! Thanks for sticking around for another chapter. Sorry again for the long waits. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions concerning the plot, please feel free to comment. I'll do my best to reply.

This chapter is dedicated to animal_lover2015! Thanks for the comment. I appreciate your support.

Today's random fact is...

Super powers are not passed on from parent to child. No one in Ben's family has powers, only Anita's grandmother had powers in her family. However, Ella's parents and sister all have powers. It's a complete mystery as to how people receive their powers.

And that's it! Hope you all enjoyed. Thanks again.

Emily
